‘Of the 36,007 criminal aliens released from Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody in Fiscal Year 2013, one thousand have since been convicted of serious new crimes, according to a new 38-page report released Friday evening by Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Charles E. Grassley.
Homeland Security provided the information to him. It details 1,000 convictions including terrorist threats, robbery, rape, drunk driving, hit and run, drug offenses, weapons convictions, child sex abuse, child cruelty, domestic abuse, carjacking, criminal street gang, assault with a deadly weapon, failure to register as a sex offender, and aggravated assault.
The Obama administration used ‘prosecutorial discretion’ to illegally release these criminals and the harm that has come to Americans – even young children – is on him.
At the time, in a release from his office, then-Governor Perry referred to it as a government-sponsored jailbreak.
“The release of criminal aliens into our communities by ICE is unconscionable. This action far surpasses the grandstanding Americans have come to associate with sequestration talks by potentially jeopardizing the safety of 26 million Texans – safety the federal government already compromises by falling short on border security,” Gov. Perry said.
“Aside from allowing this federally sponsored jailbreak to occur, ICE has also failed to provide any information regarding the number of detainees released, their countries of origin, locations where these individuals have been released, and the reasons they were detained – despite repeated requests from my office.
The finger pointing at the highest levels of the Obama administration and unwillingness to take responsibility for this massive security threat is unacceptable.”
Governor Perry could not get the names, what crimes they’ve committed, and where these people were released. No one could get any information.
The list of some cities where they were released were uncovered no thanks to the government and can be found here.
