Massachusetts Man Gives Up His 94 Pet Hamsters

A Massachusetts man, who began collecting hamsters five years ago, ran out of room in his apartment and asked police to come pick up his 94 hamsters. He wanted to keep a couple and then changed his mind (good idea).

The Eagle-Tribune reports that they were in tupperware, containers, aquariums, buckets, everywhere. They were well-cared for and it wasn’t a dire circumstance. The hamsters will go to shelters.

The Eagle-Tribune wouldn’t give up the man’s name.

Quotes to Remember

“You are the best and the brightest. You, here in this fertile cradle of American academia, here in the castle of learning on the Charles River. You are the cream. But I submit that you and your counterparts across the land are the most socially conformed and politically silenced generation since Concord Bridge. And as long as you validate that and abide it, you are, by your grandfathers’ standards, cowards.”

~ Charlton Heston

"Gun control is like trying to reduce drunk driving by making it tougher for sober people to own cars."

- Unknown

"The laws that forbid the carrying of arms are laws of such a nature. They disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes.... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."

- Thomas Jefferson (quoting 18th century criminologist Cesare Beccaria)

"Americans have the right and advantage of being armed, unlike the people of other countries, whose leaders are afraid to trust them with arms."

- James Madison
