Don Perry, VP Public Relations, Chick~fil~A

Chick~fil~A’s V.P. for Public Relations, Don Perry, had a heart attack and died this morning according to the AP. His age and other details surrounding his death were unavailable but it is safe to assume the stress he has been under took its toll.

I’m sure the loons who think it is justified to shut down a person’s right to free speech won’t assume any guilt.

The LGBT extremists have been trying to keep stores from opening, insulting their product in the media, and attempting boycotts on school campuses because Dan Cathy, the Chick-fil-A President gave an interview in which he said he believes marriage is between one man and one woman.

Chick~fil~A has given to organizations that support family values and are opposed to gay marriage. The LGBT have called them anti-gay groups – that’s debatable. Chick~fil~A has also given to gay charities.

Protests for and against the company are planned. Next Wednesday, supporters will go to Chick~fil~A’s to show their appreciation. On Friday, gay rights groups will stage Kiss-ins at Chicks.

The nasties sent out vicious tweets today, and I do mean vicious, but they were countered by caring people.

Chicago’s Rahm Emanuel, who complained about Chick’s values as he, Rahm, is working with anti-semite racist Louis Farrakahn,  and Boston’s Mayor Menino said Chicks would not be allowed to open any stores in their towns, which is patently unconstitutional, but they later walked it back.

Mayor Bloomberg, who can be a jerk sometimes, but not in this case, said that…despite his own support of same-sex marriage, he disagrees with some of his fellow mayors who have said that the fast-food chain Chick-fil-A is not welcome in their cities because of its opposition to gay marriage.

Bloomberg said on his weekly radio show on WOR that it is inappropriate for a government entity “to look at somebody’s political views and decide whether or not they can live in the city, or operate a business in the city, or work for somebody in the city.”…[Boston.com]

The late Mr. Perry was with Chick~fil~A for 29 years.

Quote of the Week

“Tornadoes form below a class of severe thunderstorms known as supercells. Supercells feature intense upward moving columns of air that rotate, as the wind near the surface is drawn into those columns it begins to rotate and forms the tornado vortex. The damage attributed to tornadoes is caused by the strong winds in the vortex and flying debris.

“Oklahoma sits within an area of the United States commonly referred to as ‘tornado alley’ – this area is amongst the most frequent locations of tornado occurrence in the world. At this time of year, the warm and moist air from the Gulf of Mexico and cool and dry air from above the Rocky Mountains come together to make tornado alley the perfect environment to spawn supercells and tornadoes.

“Preliminary reports of damage from the Oklahoma tornado suggest it was of EF-4 intensity, which is the second highest intensity rating. EF-4 tornadoes have wind gusts between about 265 and 320 kilometres per hour.”
