Crony Socialists Protecting Jon Corzine from Investigation

Crony Socialists Have One Voice

Jon Corzine deserved to be on trial for the theft he helped perpetuate at MF Global though I’d prefer to see him go straight to sentencing.

Jon Corzine brought down MF Global, a firm that was successful until he came aboard. He accomplished this immediately after he dragged New Jersey down into the sewer while he served as Governor.

MF Global is still missing the $1.6 billion in client funds, and there is strong evidence that Corzine was involved in the theft (possibly out of incompetence) and cover up.

So why isn’t Corzine in jail?

It was previously thought that it was because of his relationship with Obama.

It turns out the reason is possibly more sinister than that. It’s all about the cronyism.

Those wondering why the Department of Justice has refused to go after Jon Corzine for the vaporization of $1.6 billion in MF Global client funds need look no further than the documents uncovered by theGovernment Accountability Institute that reveal that the now-defunct MF Global was a client of Attorney General Eric Holder and Assistant Attorney General Lanny Breuer’s former law firm, Covington & Burling.

There’s more.

Records also reveal that MF Global’s trustee for the Chapter 11 bankruptcy retained as its general bankruptcy counsel Morrison & Foerester–the very law firm from which Associate Attorney General Tony West came to DOJ.

And more.

As Government Accountability Institute President Peter Schweizer explains in the Washington Times Thursday, the trustee overseeing MF Global’s bankruptcy is former FBI Director Louis Freeh. At Holder’s Senate confirmation hearing Freeh served as a character witness for Holder and revealed that Holder had previously worked for Freeh. “As general counsel,” Freehsaid, “I could have engaged any lawyer in America to represent our bank. I chose Eric.”..

This is so corrupt that crony socialism is the only descriptor that comes close enough to describing these incestuous relationships among party members as they reward and protect each other.

Just wanted to say thank god our president hates the fat cats on wall street. He has to be one of the biggest hypocrites I have ever heard of.

      Yes, ever.

Hypocrite hardly even covers it. Corzine disappeared from the news quickly and was quietly exonerated by Holder.

JP Morgan Chase which was quickly paid off with money others put into MF Global for safe keeping is planning to return about $500mn – under duress.

Corzine is back in the finance business as a soon-to-be hedge fund manager. I’m sure you and I would get the same treatment.

Quote of the Week

“Tornadoes form below a class of severe thunderstorms known as supercells. Supercells feature intense upward moving columns of air that rotate, as the wind near the surface is drawn into those columns it begins to rotate and forms the tornado vortex. The damage attributed to tornadoes is caused by the strong winds in the vortex and flying debris.

“Oklahoma sits within an area of the United States commonly referred to as ‘tornado alley’ – this area is amongst the most frequent locations of tornado occurrence in the world. At this time of year, the warm and moist air from the Gulf of Mexico and cool and dry air from above the Rocky Mountains come together to make tornado alley the perfect environment to spawn supercells and tornadoes.

“Preliminary reports of damage from the Oklahoma tornado suggest it was of EF-4 intensity, which is the second highest intensity rating. EF-4 tornadoes have wind gusts between about 265 and 320 kilometres per hour.”
