Update: The DNC deliberately left Jerusalem out as the capital of Israel to reflect Obama’s policies.
Original Story: Check out this press release from the Republican Jewish Coalition.
In 2008, the DNC referred to Jerusalem as the Capital of Israel. The 2012 platform doesn’t mention Jerusalem at all.
Yet the Democrats have been vocal about how important it is to them to lock up the Jewish vote during this convention.
The press release added:
In addition, the 2012 Democratic platform drops language from previous platforms to:
- demand the isolation of Hamas until that organization renounces terrorism and accepts other requirements of the peace process;
- insist that any settlement of the so-called “refugees” question in a final settlement make a future Palestinian state, not Israel, the destination for Palestinian “refugees”;
- note that it’s not realistic to expect outcome of negotiations to be a full and complete return to the armistice lines of 1949.
The RJC has called on DNC Chair, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz to rectify the situation.
I think these “omissions” are concerning and deliberate. Obama is sending a message to Israel regarding the threat from Iran and it is not a supportive message. If Obama gets back into office, Israel is in trouble, as if Obama’s embracing of the Muslim Brotherhood hasn’t been enough.
Debbie is busy running around saying the GOP has superficial diversity. What do you call a DNC which apparently has no allegiance to our ally, Israel? Traitors?
