Mayor Bloomberg is looking at the closed Staten Island prison, Arthur Kill Correctional, as a possible home for people left homeless by Hurricane Sandy. There is no heat in the facility and generators would have to be brought in. They are also looking at a former high school, docked ships and rental houses and apartments. [Silive.com]
