Sequestration will cut one-and-a-half cents on every dollar of increased spending. In other words, it won’t cut anything, just the rate of increase in spending.

In 2011, President Obama said he would veto any effort to cut sequestration:

In 2012, Obama claimed sequester was Congress’ idea and will not happen:

Sequestration was President Obama’s idea:

Max Baucus admits sequester was the president’s idea:

President Obama insists that sequester will be a disaster:

Now President Obama is concerned about sequester:

On Tuesday, he said FBI agents will be furloughed, criminals released, flights delayed, teachers and police officers laid off and parents frantic to find a place for children locked out of day care centers.

“Federal prosecutors will have to close cases and let criminals go,” Obama said, at the White House. “Tens of thousands of parents will have to scramble to find child care for their kids.” [Daily Caller]

In a recent speech, President Obama said with a sardonic laugh that we can’t just keep going from crisis to crisis. He is the one creating the crises. He uses them to raise taxes. He believes in a heavily-taxed nanny state and that is where he is taking us.

Quote of the Week

"It's time for a new beginning, for an end to government of the few, by the few and for the few, time to reject the idea of an "on your own" society and to replace it with shared responsibility for shared prosperity. I prefer a "we're all in it together" society.

Now, there is no greater force for economic growth than free markets, but markets work best with rules that promote our values, protect our workers and give all people a chance to succeed. (We) ....can't just let business as usual go on, and that means something has to be taken away from some people."
