ACLU State Leader Quits After Tall Adult Young Men Scare Her Daughters in a Bathroom

Maya Dillard Smith, a liberal Democrat and the interim director of the Georgia chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), resigned because of the organization’s position on public restrooms, Lifesite News reported.

Her daughters were recently “frightened” when men entered the restroom.

“I have shared my personal experience of having taken my elementary school age daughters into a women’s restroom when shortly after three transgender young adults, over six feet [tall] with deep voices, entered,” she wrote.

“My children were visibly frightened, concerned about their safety and left asking lots of questions for which I, like many parents, was ill-prepared to answer,” she added.

Dillard Smith said the ACLU has become “a special interest organization that promotes not all, but certain progressive rights” and that the “hierarchy of rights” the organization chooses to defend or ignore is “based on who is funding the organization’s lobbying activities.”

Mrs. Smith started a new website, Finding Middle Ground, dedicated to creating a “safe space” to discuss this issue.

The website asks how the issue can be discussed without being called a homophobe. It also brings up the problem of predators.

Georgia is one of 11 states suing the Obama administration over its directive to public schools and colleges to allow transgender students to use bathrooms and showers in accordance with the sex they identify with.

Those who don’t comply will lose vast amounts of federal funding with the claim that it’s discrimination.

It’s hard to believe Obama has 51% popularity but he does.

In Illinois, when a school tried to accommodate a transgender male with a separate bathroom and locker room, the government refused. He had to be permitted in the girl’s bathroom and locker room.

This policy is just dangerous. It’s common sense which is in short supply.

  1. Love this story. Love when it hits home, and comes back to bite the liberals on the ass, when they stew in their own pot. Wish it would happen to Attorney General Loretta Lynch or one of the girls in her family. But this isn’t funny. It’s total inane, idiocy.
Key point is when Dillard Smith reveals that the “hierarchy of rights” the ACLU chooses to defend or ignore is “based on who is funding the organization’s lobbying activities.”
