AG Holder Launches His ‘Get Out the Vote’ Police Investigation in Ferguson

Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. will launch a civil rights investigation of the entire Ferguson, Missouri mostly-white police department. These types of investigations are generally fishing expeditions that end in policy changes suitable to the Feds.

Profiling and excessive use of force by police will be at the top of their agenda. The accusation alone puts the police on the defensive, whether they are guilty or not. It’s like accusing a man of rape – immediate guilt is assumed.

Interest in the Michael Brown case has waned and stirring up angry sentiments could help get out the Democratic vote. Maybe even renewed violent clashes.

The Feds won’t only look at Ferguson, they plan to go on a fishing expedition through other St. Louis County police departments, at least the white ones serving minorities.

Holder is still investigating Office Darren Wilson’s actions in the shooting of Michael Brown as a civil rights violation.

The broader probe will look for patterns in the department. They already claim that five current and one former member of the Ferguson police force face pending federal lawsuits claiming use of excessive force.

WaPo reported that complaints included use of a stun gun on a man who died, hog-tying a 12-year old for going to his mailbox, and pistol-whipping children. Hmmmm, more to these stories.

Two white officers who arrested 145 black men and women in a 30-day period in the mall area for outstanding warrants are being questioned about their successful month. The arrestees had warrants out against them but the Feds want to know how many blacks they stopped to get the 145 wanted persons. The fact that the people had warrants is probably irrelevant.

There are 145 black people with outstanding warrants and the DOJ wants them to only stop a percentage of blacks to whites so, what, do they have to do? Stop 2,000 whites and violate their rights though they are looking for blacks?

Police department reviews under Holder are twice any of his predecessors. Currently, thirty-four departments are being looked into for civil rights violations.

When the DOJ conducts an investigation, police departments have little recourse but to submit and remain silent. Holder has the power. We will never get the full story. Police usually settle or accept federal monitoring.

If there are civil rights violations, they should of course be addressed but to date, Holder has proven himself to be anything but fair.

At least one St. Louis police chief – Chief Jackson – stirred Holder’s ire by releasing the video of victim Michael Brown’s strong-arm robbery minutes before his unfortunate meeting with Officer Wilson.

Since Brown was shot, all sorts of new allegations of police brutality have arisen out of the ether.

Democratic State Senator Maria Chappelle-Nadal is all for the investigation. She would be, she’s been stirring up rancor since it started.

She tweeted multiple times “Fuck you,” at Democratic Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon, telling Fox News that she did so because she was tear-gassed for three days (as she hung out with the rioters, New Black Panthers and other disreputable groups).

“The reason why I used profane language is because he has allowed us to get tear-gassed for three days,” Sen. Maria Chappelle-Nadal said. “I am one of his senators in his party and he was at the state fair enjoying a country concert while we were getting tear-gassed and shot at. And yes, anyone who’s going to get tear-gassed deserves to say a few ‘F’ bombs here and there.”

Ferguson is about 65% black but only 11% of the officers are black, though we were originally told there was only one black officer, then we were told there were two, now NBC News says it’s 11%.

This review will undoubtedly result in an agreement that increases the numbers of blacks using an affirmative action style process.

Since 1994 and the Rodney King case, the Feds have had the right to investigate local police departments. If Rep. Elijah Cummings has his way, everything the police departments do throughout the nation would be under the thumb of the Feds. He is hoping for a Federal Czar to control the nations local police forces in the Obama regime.
