President Trump’s trip was been successful by most standards but agree or not, instead of the media reporting about the issues discussed during the trip, they are putting up distractions.
Their latest story concerns another illegal leak asserting that Jared Kushner allegedly discussed a back door channel to the Russians with the Russian ambassador to review Syria and other policy issues. The title of the article is, Kushner Is Said to Have Discussed a Secret Channel to Talk to Russia.
Obama set up a back door to the Ayatollah but that was okay.
If you read beyond the first couple paragraphs, you will find there’s no story here.
This was a Trump Tower conversation that was leaked which proves the Trump campaign was spied on in Trump Tower during the campaign.
Next, the Times admits they don’t know who proposed the communications. It could have been the Russian Ambassador.
It is unclear who first proposed the communications channel, but the people familiar with the meeting said the idea was to have Mr. Flynn speak directly with a senior military official in Moscow to discuss Syria and other security issues. The communications channel was never set up, the people said.
They have three anonymous sources and we have no idea who these people are.

The Washington Post claimed Kushner proposed it but the NY Times can’t confirm it, but so what anyway.
The Post reported that the direct line between the transition team and the Kremlin in concept would have been conducted through Russian diplomatic facilities to avoid being monitored in American communication systems. The Post also reported that Mr. Kushner had proposed the communications channel and that it took Mr. Kislyak by surprise. The New York Times could not immediately confirm these details.
The channel was never set up.

The calls focused on how to improve economic relations between the United States and Russia, and how the two countries could better cooperate in the fight against Islamist extremism, Reuters reported, citing six current and former American officials.
The focus of the article was to rehash all the accusations with no evidence put forth by these anonymous sources, many of whom are former Obama officials.
