Another Obama First: Egypt Turns to Russia for an Arms Deal

The United States betrayed Egypt by pushing for revolution against Mubarek and then providing ongoing support for a Muslim Brotherhood dictator, Mohamed Morsi, who shut down the press, imprisoned dissenters including journalists, and took control of the constitution, the government and the military.

The United States then stopped aid to Egypt.

It is no surprise that after the Olympics, el-Sissi went to Russia and negotiated an arms deal with them.

No one in the media seems concerned.

We lost Egypt to Russia and no one cares.

Sissi’s deal in February was not without warning. In November, Sissi went to Russia to restore relationships. Egypt knows that the U.S. can no longer be trusted.

In Moscow this past February, the Times of Israel  reported this:

“Our visit offers a new start to the development of military and technological cooperation between Egypt and Russia,” Sissi said at the start of the meeting in a government mansion in the heart of Moscow. “We hope to speed up this cooperation,” Sissi said.

Russia’s defense chief Shoigu stressed that Moscow “was interested in seeing Egypt be a powerful and stable state.”

“In this connection, we need to discuss fairly important issues concerning military and technological cooperation — their current state and prospects for the future,” Shoigu said.

The U.S. has done nothing to turn this around. A 30-year peace with Egypt was over in a few months time.

We lost Egypt thanks to the Arab Spring.

Please remember that Obama and Hillary took credit for Egypt:
