Barack Obama has wasted another half billion dollars on a failed plan to fight ISIS.
Obama sought and obtained $500 million tax dollars to train Syrian rebels to fight ISIS last year. It took a reluctant Congress months to approve the funds because they didn’t think the program would work.
It was appropriated for 3,000 to 5,000 fighters to start and for various reasons, all they could get were 60 at the time. Since then, all but 4 or 5 have been killed, captured or have disappeared.
The U.S. has spent $41.8 million out of a budget of $500 million for this program and only 4 or 5 Syrian soldiers have been trained. That means we spent $10 million per fighter.
Barack Obama sure can waste money.
We are still hearing that Barack Obama has a 60-member coalition fighting ISIS. Who? Where are they? It’s a phantom coalition.

Breitbart, reported in August that the Arab world is laughing at us and views us as treacherous.
Kirk Sowell, principal of Uticensis Risk Services, a Middle East-focused political risk firm, who closely follows Arab media summed it up this way on Twitter: “Pentagon: Arab media are laughing at you,” Breitbart reported.
The Jerusalem Post presented a stunning sample of reactions from the Arab world to the performance of the U.S.-trained and equipped New Syrian Force and they weren’t good. The Arabs believe that this failure only proves further that the U.S. is an unreliable ally.
Aymenn Jawad al-Tamimi, a fellow at the Middle East Forum who closely follows Islamist opposition groups in Syria and Iraq, told The Jerusalem Post that “for many Sunni Arabs and Syrian Sunni Arab rebels in particular, this train-and-equip program has had no credibility from the outset.”
“US policymakers’ sense of reality on the ground is seriously in question with the apparent failure to anticipate a clash with the Nusra Front, which has a notable presence in the Azaz district into which the force of 50-60 men was inserted,” he continued.
The Arab world sees us as responsible for the Syrian crisis as Iran and Russia. They also see us training and siding with Sh’ites. We have cooperated with Iranian forces against ISIS using Shi’ite militias (Iranian-backed) who are every bit as criminal as ISIS. We are seen as siding with them against the entire rest of the Arab world and we are to get a bad deal with Iran.
The Pentagon responded to the failure by training more at great expense.
The plan was to have 15,000 in three years.
