Barack Obama’s Enemies List Reaffirmed

Sharyl Attkisson gave an interview to The Hollywood Reporter two days ago. Besides explaining the culture at CBS and describing the hacking of her computer by a government agency, she said she believes she is on an enemies list kept by the White House.

Nixon kept such a list during his presidency and attempted to use the IRS and other vehicles to seek revenge.

Attkisson told the Hollywood reporter Paul Bond that she kind of assumes she is on a list and that she doesn’t think she is the only one, “along with James Rosen and the Associated Press. There’s probably a list of people.”

One exchange between reporter Paul Bond and Sheryl Attkisson follows.

BOND: So an enemies list, like in the Nixon administration?

ATTKISSON: I’ve been told there is such a list, yes.

BOND: And who do you suspect is on that list?

ATTKISSON: Well, there’s an internal email that indicated reporters who were working with leakers in government agencies or perceived as enemies of the White House are being targeted. So I think that’s probably accurate — anybody that they perceive as harmful to their agenda or working with leakers and whistle-blowers, which I did a lot of.

BOND: Do you have sources who told you the names on that list? Is Rush Limbaugh on that list, for example?

ATTKISSON: Another reporter told me — I can’t remember who — that they thought he was on some sort of target list, but I don’t know that to be the case. I have someone who told me the existence of a list but not the names on it.

END OF EXCHANGE

Bond also asked if Media Matters, which has gone on the attack against Mrs. Attkisson, has attacked anyone else.

She said that “David Folkenflik of NPR told me they were paid to target Rush Limbaugh. He may have misspoken on that, because someone told me it may have been Glenn Beck. He gave me two instances in which they were paid to target. He also said that they were paid to target Fox News. I’m not sure if that’s correct. It was just another reporter relaying that information to me.”

(David Folkenflik did not respond to a request from Hollywood Reporter for comment. Media Matters president Bradley Beychok told Hollywood Reporter: “Media Matters has never taken a dime to target Sharyl Attkisson.”).

Would it be surprising, given what we know of the Obama administration’s targeting, spying, and lack of transparency?

In October 2010, Karl Rove told Politico that President Barack Obama has an “enemies list,” after the White House escalated its argument that Rove and others were orchestrating a flood of midterm-election ads paid for by unknown donors.

The Democratic National Committee attacked Rove and another top GOP strategist, Ed Gillespie, in an ad that ran for a week.

Rove, in an e-mail to POLITICO, said: ““It is sad to see the president diminish his office by these baseless attacks. Even the truth doesn’t restrain him when it comes to assaulting his enemies list.”

An enemies list would match up to Mr. Obama’s personality traits. His political opponents and anyone who disagrees with him become enemies to demonize and threaten. He accuses his opponents of playing the partisan politics that he himself is playing.

While tearing people apart, he demands they work together.

He passes the blame at every opportunity. It’s never his fault.

Whether he has a written list with names, it’s hard to say but they are certainly in his head.

He has used his presidential megaphone to demonize Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, the Koch brothers (not George Soros of course), the Cambridge police, the Ferguson police, Republicans, the Tea Party (while ‘sympathizing’ with the violent Occupy Wall Street mobs), the military who came forward to say Bowe Bergdahl was a deserter, perhaps worse, he went after Wall Street and for some time has used the banks as an ATM for the government, he attacked the Supreme Court, Israel, Netanyahu, Hobby Lobby, The Little Sisters of the Poor, Speaker Boehner, and so many others.

He hides his fingerprints and uses his dupes in the media and in left-wing organizations to cover his tracks. Sometimes, like in the case of the anonymous White House advisers who called Netanyahu a ‘chickensh*t’, we hear mild protestations but no names are released, no one is rebuked and there were no apologies.

He has gone after reporters and their sources more than any president and of all presidents combined.

We know he had a secret kill list. He might still have it.

Mr. Obama’s IRS has most definitely targeted his enemies and they have been fully protected in doing so.

Bond asked Attkisson about the government hacking of her computers.

She said she was told by two computer forensics experts that “a highly sophisticated entity using abilities outside non-government resources, using software proprietary either to the DIA, CIA, FBI or NSA made repeat remote intrusions into both my computers over a period of time. And we have evidence of a government computer connection into my computer system.”

CBS also investigated the claim and believed her computers were hacked according to Attkisson. While they said they would get to the bottom of it, they never contacted her about it again.

She left CBS because they had little interest in “original investigative reporting”. “Some people in the decision-making process, not necessarily reporters at the ground level, but some of those deciding what goes on television have become very fearful of the sponsors and would just prefer to avoid conflict and controversy…”

Some of the new bosses who came to CBS at the same time as Barack Obama became president were left-wing and biased.

She did not draw any connections between David Rhodes, her boss, and his brother Ben Rhodes, the president’s current deputy national security adviser for strategic communication who altered the Banghazi talking points.
