Dr. Ben Carson revealed on Newsmax TV Monday that he will have a job in Donald Trump’s administration, perhaps as an advisor, if Trump makes it to the White House. That might have been a reason for endorsing Donald Trump though Carson denied that in the past as did Trump.
It sounds like Donald was his last choice. He liked Rubio and Kasich but they didn’t have a path to the nomination and Cruz, he said, can’t win Independents unless “he has a miraculous change.”
Trump does engage in the politics of personal destruction but he’ll hire good people, Carson said, and apparently he will be one of them.
“Even if Donald Trump turns out not to be such a great president, which I don’t think is the case, I think he’s going to surround himself with really good people, but even if he didn’t, we’re only looking at four years as opposed to multiple generations and perhaps the loss of the American dream forever,” he said.
Dr. Carson said he had to be practical and yes there is another scenario he would have preferred with one of the other candidates.
He doesn’t like Trump’s comments such as telling people to punch others in the face but Trump does it because he’s a showman. He’s like Barack, his colors were obvious but people chose to ignore them.
“I do believe, and certainly in my discussions with Donald Trump, he does love America and he does want to be successful. He will surround himself with very good people,” Carson told “The Steve Malzberg Show.”
In that one hour meeting with Trump, Carson was offered a job of some kind but he wouldn’t reveal the details. Trump had said it would be in education and healthcare.
Dr. Carson will be on the campaign trail with him.
