The Benghazi attack was a terrorist attack possibly linked to Al Qaeda, Director of U.S. National Counterterrorism Center, Matthew Olsen, said today.
The Obama administration has insisted that the attack was the direct result of the protests against the now-infamous movie, The Innocence of Muslims. This is the same administration that said the Fort Hood Massacre was a “workplace incident.”
Olsen said the attack may have had connections to al-Qaeda or its North African affiliate, al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb.
“The best information we have now indicates that this was an opportunistic attack,” he said, adding that they do not know if the attacks were coordinated or pre-planned.
This is in direct contradiction to the White House claims that the attack was a spontaneous reaction to a protest which we now know never occurred in Benghazi. The protests presented a branch of Al Qaeda with an opportunity to attack the Embassy.
We all knew this of course, all of us except for President Barack Obama, U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice, and press secretary Jay Carney.
Susan Rice claiming the attack was spontaneous:
President Obama has advanced the cause of the Brotherhood throughout the world and in this country, possibly with good intentions, as misguided as they clearly are. The following ad makes the point.
