Bikers Ride to Free Sgt. Tahmooressi Who Has Been Tortured in a Mexican Prison

Our government is very worried about GITMO prisoners having their Korans and their soccer field but they don’t give a care about a marine who has been tortured and imprisoned in Mexico for getting lost. Obama worries about people coming here illegally from Mexico and Central America, he just doesn’t care about them if they are citizens.

Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi, an Afghan war veteran, has been imprisoned in Mexico for two months for getting lost and ending up in Mexico with his legally-registered guns in his car. If you don’t know the story, click here for more information.

Some people who have had enough and want to do something about it. Bikers are now congregating and riding for the marine.

Riders USA left Arizona for the San Diego/Tijuana border onThursday morning, June 12th, to protest for the release of Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi.

They’ve organized a series of other events including a continuous event, M-F, 7 am outside ABC Studios in NYC’s Times Square with Free Marine Andrew Tahmooressi signs to get on national TV.

They believe the federal government is not doing enough to free the 25-year-old Marine.

“The breaking point for me was when we let five terrorists go to spring a traitor,” ride organizer John Harrington said.

The riders say they are not only angered by the government’s lack of action but also by reports of how the Marine has been treated in jail.

Tahmooressi’s aunt, Glendale resident Beth Whitney, told 3TV in May that her nephew was beaten, stripped naked and chained at four points in his first jail. She said he was then moved to another jail, where he has been kept in isolation.

“Being strapped to a bed by all four appendages, naked, for 30 days, I’d say that’s good. It’s time for somebody to step in and do something,” Harrington said.

“It’s just an egregious act by the Mexican government,” said rider Vince Anselmo. “This is uncalled for. This man is not a criminal. This is a true American hero they’ve got down there.”

They weren’t sure whether they would cross the border, but Harrington said, “It’s certainly something I’m willing to do if I can and if need be. I brought my passport.”

2 Million Bikers to DC will hold a Declaration of Freedom Rally for Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi at the Mexican consulate on July 3rd and 4th.

This is what they have posted on their Facebook page:

Our Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776 is our nation’s most endearing monument and cherished symbol of liberty.

That’s why we chose July 3rd & 4th as our Declaration of Freedom Rally for Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi of the United States Marine Corps, who is from Weston, Florida.

Why July 3rd? Because we want our voices to be heard and our signs to be seen during normal business hours by BOTH staff members and employees at the Mexican Consulate and Senator Marco Rubio’s offices in Miami, Florida.

Why Miami, FL? Because Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi and his family are from Weston, FL, which is north of Miami.

We will again rally at the Mexican Consulate in Miami on July 4th as our symbolic Declaration of Freedom for Sgt. Tahmooressi.

Although this is a coordinated event with several biker organizations, ALL MODES OF TRANSPORTATION ARE WELCOME.

DETAILS as to our rally point location, time and KSU (kick stands up) will be finalized by June 20th.

U.S. Marine Sergeant Andrew Tahmooressi is a decorated and meritoriously promoted Sergeant, 2 tours in OEF & reservist until 8/2016. Andrew was arrested with all worldly possessions when he in error approached the Mexican customs lane in his borrowed truck he was living in as he sought housing and employment in San Diego.

Expecting to meet up with a Purple Heart awarded Marine buddy for dinner Andrew got lost and ended up at the checkpoint. Suitcases and hefty bags of clothes were in his back seat including U.S.legally purchased firearms with ammunition in the suitcase. Andrew carries a concealed weapons permit for his pistol.

Since arrest 4/1 Andrew has been chained by all fours to a cot for 25+ days, had his life threatened and sustained a neck wound requiring hospitalization and sutures. Please Click on the sign petition page above to help bring him home. (Source: http:/
