John Boehner is retiring at the end of October. Hasta La Vista baby! His career is going to end the way one would expect – with RINO game playing.
Would you, as an unpopular Speaker, end your career by separating the defunding of Planned Parenthood from the spending bill and put a “clean bill” forward?
Based on early reports, he allegedly worked out a deal with Nancy Pelosi to fund the Obama agenda for the remainder of his term which would include Planned Parenthood, Obamacare, illegal immigration, the Iran deal, and so on.
NBC is reporting that House Republicans are meeting behind closed doors to discuss moving forward both on Planned Parenthood and funding the government. They won’t close the government for anything, even for brutalized unborn babies or babies who are born and somehow die.
They are allegedly looking to get the defunding of Planned Parenthood to Barack Obama’s desk to let him veto it.
They would fund the government but would immediately activate the ‘reconciliation process’ to defund Planned Parenthood with the goal of putting a bill to defund Planned Parenthood on the president’s desk and making him defend their abhorrent practices.
There is – remarkably – very little support for defunding Planned Parenthood unfortunately, but sometimes, it’s important to stand for something and make the case.
One of the major problems Conservatives have with Republicans right now, I believe, is their lack of honesty and their game playing. They send the message that they stand for nothing. This could change with better leadership making the case.
They are FINALLY talking about using ‘reconciliation’, something they have refused to do until now though Harry Reid and the Democrats have not hesitated to use it.
Reconciliation will prevent a filibuster because it only requires 51 votes in the Senate. It will get the bill on Obama’s desk. That’s the best anyone could hope for and it’s something they should have done all along.
Why didn’t they use it on they many, many horrendous Obama bills that violated the Constitution? It took an existential threat to the party before they even considered it. It took Donald Trump and Ben Carson to get them to do it.
More than 50% of the Republican party are looking to vote for a candidate with absolutely NO experience rather than go with the people who can’t fulfill a campaign promise if their life were in the balance.
Republicans still don’t get it really because they are going to keep passing these spending bills that borrow 40 cents on every dollar, but there is hope – slight hope.
John Boehner is planning to retire in a month’s time and is shedding tears no doubt but at least a third of the party is planning the celebratory parties, but when will McConnell do the right thing and go? He should take John McCain with him while he’s at it.
Meanwhile, word has it that he funded the Obama agenda for the duration of his term after working out a deal with Nancy Pelosi.
