Where is Bowe Bergdahl? Barack Obama recently released five Taliban terrorists from GITMO. The deal was supposed to be in exchange for a meeting to negotiate peace in Afghanistan AND in exchange for captured US prisoner Bowe Bergdahl. There is no sign of Bowe.

Obama seems to have left Bergdahl behind.

The circumstances of Bergdahl’s capture are unclear. It is known that Bergdahl walked off the base on his own. The Army now believes he is a prisoner of the infamous Haqqani network. Whatever the circumstances surrounding Bergdahl’s disappearance from his base, we should be fighting to get him back.

News sources, such as the Daily Mail, report that Bergdahl hated the Army and was’ashamed’ of the United States.

One quote from an email read, ‘I am sorry for everything,’ he wrote. ‘The horror that is America is disgusting.’ Immediately after that email, he mailed his uniform and books home. Some believe that when he left the base that day, he was suicidal. Some believe he was deserting.

He was first reported as ‘duty status unknown.’

He is now considered ‘missing-captured.’ There are reports that he attempted to escape recently but was captured after three days. Prior to that, he was reportedly cooperating with his captors.

PFC Bergdahl’s father Bob told the Idaho Mountain Press in May 2012 that swapping Taliban prisoners at Guantanamo for his son represents a “win-win” for the United States. He said in addition to his son’s safe return, the United States could foster good will with the Afghan people.

One can only guess as to Bob Bergdahl’s reaction to his son not being part of the release. Mr. Bergdahl was instructed to not speak of his son’s situation and to keep a low profile.
