BLM, the Bureau of Land Management
After two weeks of creating a no-fly zone around the Bundy ranch, establishing free speech zones, and carrying out martial law as they steal and kill cattle, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has agreed to stop rounding up the Bundy cattle.
8News Now reports that agency says it is concerned about the safety of its employees and the public.
“I have no contract with the United States government,” Bundy said. “I was paying grazing fees for management and that’s what BLM was supposed to be, land managers and they were managing my ranch out of business, so I refused to pay.”
The federal government had countered that Bundy “owes the American people in excess of $1 million ” in unpaid grazing fees and “refuses to abide by the law of land, despite many opportunities over the last 20 years to do so.”
However, today the BLM said it would not enforce a court order to remove the cattle and was pulling out of the area.
“Based on information about conditions on the ground, and in consultation with law enforcement, we have made a decision to conclude the cattle gather because of our serious concern about the safety of employees and members of the public,” BLM Director Neil Kornze said.
“We ask that all parties in the area remain peaceful and law-abiding as the Bureau of Land Management and National Park Service work to end the operation in an orderly manner,” he said.
“It’s about the freedom of America,” said another of Bundy’s sisters, Margaret Houston. “We have to stand up and fight.”
For now, Bundy seems to have won the range war.
The BLM was very courageous when it was only the Bundys and a handful of farmers against hundreds of BLM snipers. Now the tables are somewhat turned and supporters are pouring in to the Bundy ranch in what could be a dangerous showdown between an overreaching government and a rancher.
The government is now concerned about their people. Allegedly a deal was brokered by Clark County Sheriff Doug Gillespie. The deal would allow the BLM to sell the cattle rounded up and share the proceeds with Bundy.
The Sheriff has been negotiating between the Bundys and BLM for months.
I’m sorry to say that this government needs this. They need people to stand up to them. They are out of control.
On Monday, lawmakers from Washington, Arizona and Utah will be at the Bundy ranch in support.
After this calms down, the government will go in and attack him in some other way and they will be far worse than they were the first time.
