A white police officer was charged with First Degree Murder for the shooting death of 17-year old Laquan McDonald who was black but it took a year for the charges to be made.
The dashcam video was released today and it appears that the boy did nothing to deserve the 16 rounds that were fired into him. He was walking away with a knife in his hand, not menacing anyone and there appears to be no reason for the police officer to have shot him, much less 16 times.
The dashboard camera shows two police officers jumping out of their car and drawing their weapons while advancing toward McDonald. Within seconds he is struck by bullets and crumples to the ground, his body jerking as he is hit by additional rounds of gunfire.
Prosecutors said he was shot 16 times by Van Dyke, who emptied his gun and was preparing to reload his weapon. Van Dyke has said through his lawyer and the police union that the shooting was justified because he felt threatened by McDonald.
ABC 7 reported that at least 18 citizen complaints have been filed against Van Dyke in his 14-year career, but he was never disciplined, according to a University of Chicago database. Eight complaints alleged excessive force, two involving the use of a firearm in addition to the McDonald shooting.
The officer was employed until the day the video was released.
The people who hid this video were all Democrats by the way.
Be WARNED, it’s a horrible video.
He’ll answer for it but the unruly protests have begun, despite the fact that the family called for calm. They did not want violence in “Laquan’s name.”
In 2014, this is what Pat Camden of the Fraternal Order of Police reported in part and someone is obviously lying:
Officers remained in their car and followed McDonald as he walked south on Pulaski Road. More officers arrived and police tried to box the teen in with two squad cars, Camden said. McDonald punctured one of the squad car’s front passenger-side tires and damaged the front windshield, police and Camden said.
Officers got out of their car and began approaching McDonald, again telling him to drop the knife, Camden said. The boy allegedly lunged at police, and one of the officers opened fire.
McDonald was shot in the chest and taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 10:42 p.m.[…]
Camden said none of the officers who responded had a Taser to use on the teen and were trying to detain him long enough for one to arrive. He said officers were forced to defend themselves.
“When police tell you to drop a weapon, all you have to do is drop it,” Camden said.
The officer is up for First Degree Murder. There is nothing else that can be done but the disorder has begun. They are throwing bottles and water on police as I write this.

Unfortunately, all police will be indicted on this officer’s behavior and seeming wrongdoing.
