Despite strong opposition from Republicans and a few Democrats joining them as they fought the measures, four gun bills passed the House today.
- Magazines will be limited to 15 rounds and 8 for shotguns
- Background checks on all gun sales will be required
- Concealed firearms are banned at colleges and stadiums
- Gun purchasers must pay for their own background checks
The bill now goes to the Senate where Democrats have a smaller advantage than they do in the House.
VP Biden has been pushing Colorado Democrats to vote for the bills, emphasizing that they will set the path for the nation.
