President Obama is driving us towards big government in every facet of our lives from education to healthcare to housing to welfare without end. The money has to come from somewhere and that somewhere has to be from the common working man. All we have to do is look to Europe to see our future.
We can learn by observing how England handles employers.
The latest onslaught on businesses in England is the Pay as You Earn (PAYE) information in “real time.” The bureaucracy from hell that is England now demands businesses report every thing they earn as they earn it. The costly accounting involved goes without saying.
Their Revenue & Customs department is ill-prepared to cope with the constant reporting by more than a million businesses, charities, and families who employ nannies or cleaners. Some businesses won’t survive.
Insane you say? Yes it is but it won’t sound insane when we get into their financial boat which should happen only a few short years from now.
PM David Cameron said he’d cut back on rules on businesses, same as our president did, but of course he isn’t.
The impetus behind PAYE is their universal benefit welfare reform. They want to be able to pay handouts to people on the dole in real time so they can monitor their abuse of the system better.
Universal Credit is a new single payment for people who are looking for work or on a low income. It supposedly makes certain that people are better off employed than not employed.
The English have decided that they need to straighten out their welfare system so they want constant real time tax information allowing them to adjust welfare payments accordingly. They are combining all the welfare programs into one. They are concerned about the cost of welfare dependency and poverty which government helped create. Their solution is more government.
I don’t know if this is the solution to their problems but the point is this is where social justice and redistribution winds up.
This type of government taxation and abuse is why we had a revolution in this country but we seem to be succumbing to the same insanity. Pay as you earn could be in our future.
