Obamacare waivers given to luxury hotels and trendy restaurants in Nancy Pelosi’s district. The corruption is blatant beyond belief and where is the media? Can anyone say “pay-to-play?” The Daily caller broke this story today.

Unions, high on the administration’s friends list (Trumpka calls the WH every day), receive 26% of the waivers.Nursing homes, yes, nursing homes, need waivers. Mark Parkinson, president of the American Health Care Association, explained that his industry (nursing homes) has to get a waiver from Obamacare because “we do not have much ability to increase prices because we are so dependent on Medicaid and Medicare” for revenue. Florida, New Jersey, Tennessee and Ohio have received waivers because their current medical plans are “illegal” under Obamacare. The entire state of Maine received a waiver from the requirement that insurers spend 80 cents to 85 cents of every premium dollar on medical care and quality improvement. It was granted because it might destabilize the state. Nevada received a partial waiver. Other states are lining up for waivers.

Banks and large corporations are big recipients of healthcare waivers. Following is a list of healthcare waivers when they were at half the number. It is no longer updated.

Obama has visions of  setting up a network of doctors and hospitals who would collaborate in networks as “accountable care organizations.” An umbrella organization representing organizations such as the Mayo Clinic say the plan is unworkable and more than 90% of their members would not participate because … the rules as written are so onerous it would be nearly impossible for them to succeed.
