The legislation to adopt tougher gun laws in New York passed the state Assembly yesterday, 104-43.
Seven Democrats — Robin Schimminger and Dennis Gabryszak of Buffalo; Anthony Brindisi of Utica; Bill Magee of Syracuse; Aillen Gunther of the Catskills; Donna Lupardo of Binghamton and James Skoufis of Orange County — voted no.
Five Republicans from Long Island voted yes: Brian Curran, Chad Lupinacci,, David McDonough, Tom McKevitt and Dan Losquadro.

The previous night, in the middle of the night, the state senate passed the legislation by 43-18, with eight Long Island Senate Republicans, two New York City senators and Sen. Mark Grisanti, R-Buffalo, voting in favor of the bill.
