In an exclusive find, Truth Revolt has discovered that the Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG) has hired a George Soros-linked pollster to “conduct a national survey on media and opinion in a difficult research environment of the Latin American market.” They were given a no-bid contract.
This should be bid out but instead it was awarded to Bendixen & Amandi “as the only source that meets the BBG requirement” and the announcement was hidden in an obscure government website.
The only source?
They have worked extensively for and are closely affiliated with George Soros’ Open Society Institute and Obama for America.
Bendixen & Amandi International also represents the Ford Foundation, which contributed more than $2.5 million to the liberal Center for American Progress between 2009 and 2010.
They have also worked with Hillary Clinton and other Democrats such as Patty Murphy in Washington.
Prior to the last election, President Obama’s re-election campaign manager Jim Messina inadvertently revealed Obama for America hired Sergio Bendixen, who at the time represented an organization founded by left-wing billionaire George Soros.
Bendixen, the deceptively-defined “prominent” pollster, wrote the strategy memo below and Messina followed up with a tweet. The following information came via fact real wordpress.
The tweet featured a link to an Obama campaign strategy memo above entitled “Republicans Seal Their Fate with Hispanic Voters in 2012.” Bendixen, listed in the document as an Obama for America pollster, prepared that memo.
Forget the supposed demographic shifts they purported to have uncovered, Americans stayed home. Cubans voted for Romney. He did not seal his fate with them.
This pollster appears to be influencing opinion rather than collecting opinions.
He was the key pollster in the recent Cuban-American agreement. Single-handedly, he convinced Americans that Cubans strongly supported the deal.
He polled Cuban opinions in April and found half of the 1200 polled like Raul Castro. The poll was paid for by Univision and The Washington Post. Both are liberal and Univision has the ear of 97% of the Latinos in this country. The poll strongly influenced them. Univision’s anchor is the unAmerican Jorge Ramos who reports opinion as fact and swaying this listeners towards supporting ideas such as illegal immigration.
The poll found that 80% of Cubans love Barack Obama.
Maybe he should run for dictator of Cuba instead of the U.S.
The results of their poll were published throughout the mainstream media and greatly influenced American opinion.
Here is a sample from USA Today:
Cubans say they are overwhelmingly optimistic about the hope of economic change from President Obama’s decision to re-establish diplomatic ties with the island country, according to a survey the authors describe as the first independent poll there in decades.
Of those canvassed, 73% said they are optimistic about their future. All but 3% said the normalization of relations between the U.S. and Cuba is good for their country of 11 million, possibly improving basic standards of living from buying a car to starting a business.
Obama is among the island’s most popular people with a positive rating of 80%, equaling that of Pope Francis and nearly double the 44% for former Cuban leader Fidel Castro.
With Cuba’s ailing economy after 50 years under a U.S. trade embargo, most Cubans worry more about money than politics, the survey shows.
Nearly half said improving the economy is key. Despite high ratings for Cuba’s free health care and educational systems, 55% said they would leave the island to live elsewhere if they could.
Only 24% of those surveyed said an open political system is uppermost for them, and more than half doubt that normal relations with the U.S. will change that.
Sounded fishy at the time and it’s a lot fishier now.
In December 2009, the Bendixen poll found that immigration continues to be a key and personal issue for Latinos. The poll also finds that the vast majority of Latinos support comprehensive immigration reform. Do they? Were they influenced by polls like this and people like Jorge?
Truth Revolt referred to highly respected Cuban babalu blog that has run exposés on this polling firm.
Here is an excerpt:
Whenever the mainstream media trots out the fictitious “generational shift” among Cuban Exiles to a softer stance against the Castro dictatorship, more often than not they cite polls conducted by the Miami polling firm of Sergio Bendixen. Although his polling on this issue (and practically all other issues) has been proven wrong numerous times, and his methodology has been shown to be dubious at best and downright fraudulent at worst, the media continues to quote his tainted results because it is exactly what they are looking for. The liberal media has a narrative they want to push, and Sergio Bendixen is one of those pollsters who appears to begin with the polling results he is looking for and then devises a methodology to achieve those results.
Over the years, Bendixen’s polling has amassed a history of being consistently and repeatedly wrong. Going all the way back to when he confidently declared that Violeta Chamorro stood no chance of beating Daniel Ortega in Nicaragua (she won in a landslide), to more recent times when he announced his polling showed Joe Garcia the victor over Mario Diaz-Balart on election day only to watch FroJoe go down in bitter defeat at the voting booth. Sergio Bendixen has proven himself to not only be wrong on a consistent basis, but also arrogantly boastful about his unreliable polls until the very last moment. That is perhaps the reason we are not seeing as many Bendixen polls in the past few years. Bad polling is bad polling, and when your data is proven consistently wrong as that of Bendixen’s, it is hard to find clients willing to pay you for fraudulent and unreliable results.
Other polling firms like Florida International University (FIU are tied to the ultra liberal Brookings Institute and have a similar record to Bendixen. They are frequently cited by the media when Latinos are involved and they are used to influence their readers..
These leftists are taking over polling of Latinos and elections. Buyer beware.
