The Military Religious Freedom Foundation (headed up by Mikey Weinstein), with his friends at the Southern Poverty Law Center, define the free exercise of one’s faith in the military as “proselytizing.”
This aggressive Atheist group – the Military Religious Freedom Foundation – has convinced the defense department to impose a new rule that charges soldiers who “proselytize” with a crime punishable by court martial.
It is unbelievable that Obama’s minions in the defense department have taken their advice from a vehemently anti-Christian Atheistic group.
They have done so before. The list of terrorists used for training new Army recruits was supplied by the Southern Poverty Law Center. On the list are mainstream Catholics, Mormons, and Evangelicals.
The Pentagon released the following statement confirming that soldiers could be prosecuted for “proselytizing:”
“Religious proselytization is not permitted within the Department of Defense…Court martials and non-judicial punishments are decided on a case-by-case basis…”. Breitbart
This is a new rule, not an affirmation of an old one.
Our troops need to live their faith and speak of it when they want. Christians will not survive in the military under this anti-Christian rule.
The definition of “proselytizing” is not available. Do they mean “coercion” or living one’s faith? The guidelines for making a claim of coercion are still not clear. Where this leaves chaplains is not clear.
Weinstein is the head of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, and says Christians–including chaplains–sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ in the military are guilty of “treason,” and of committing an act of “spiritual rape” as serious a crime as “sexual assault.” He also asserted that Christians sharing their faith in the military are “enemies of the Constitution.”
I won’t link to the Military Religious Freedom Foundation but if you go to their site, you will likely be shocked at the hate mongering. Their mission isn’t religious freedom as I read it, it’s religious persecution.
