Sterling and girlfriend

Donald Sterling and his girlfriend

Update: 4/29/14: Tuesday, Donald Sterling has been suspended for life by NBA Chief Silver.

This latest insane racist rant might take the heat off Cliven Bundy. At least Cliven would be proud to sit anywhere on the bus with Rosa Parks. Donald Sterling, the owner of the LA Clippers, doesn’t want his girlfriend to be seen with Black people. He was caught on a tape aired by TMZ saying the following among other things to his girlfriend, who is half-Black:

– “It bothers me a lot that you want to broadcast that you’re associating with black people. Do you have to?”

– “You can sleep with [black people]. You can bring them in, you can do whatever you want.  The little I ask you is not to promote it on that … and not to bring them to my games.”

– “I’m just saying, in your lousy f******* Instagrams, you don’t have to have yourself with, walking with black people.”

– “…Don’t put him [Magic] on an Instagram for the world to have to see so they have to call me.  And don’t bring him to my games.”

Sterling is a sports owner and philanthropist who once donated to liberals Gray Davis and Bill Bradley. His donations were made in the 1990’s but they were to liberals. There were a couple headlines earlier today with blogs blaring the news that another Republican racist had been exposed. They’ve since been removed because they were in error!

(Update: 4/28/2014: Sterling is a registered Republican. Perhaps neither party has to claim him. His politics are as confused as he is.)

Sterling has a decades-long history of racially bigoted remarks and no one has called him on it.

It should be mentioned that many of the players he deals with are Black. He’s willing to make money off them but he doesn’t want his girlfriend seen with them.

You can listen to the rant on this link. It’s unbelievable, really. Aside from the racism, it’s incoherent. His girlfriend is also incoherent.

Magic Johnson tweeted today that he won’t go to an LA Clippers game as long as Sterling is in charge. Can you blame him? In fact, I’d blame him if he did.

This might go out of the news quickly because Sterling is not a Republican. Frankly, the racists I’ve known were mostly Democrats.
