Fusion GPS founder Glenn Simpson will be pleading the 5th Amendment rather than testifying before Congress. It’s not a surprise since his organization is comprised of smear merchants employed by the Democrats, unsavory characters like George Soros and corrupt government politicians like those in Venezuela.
Fusion GPS was behind the debunked anti-Trump, Russia dossier alleging perverse sexual encounters and financial dealings by Mr. Trump in 2013. They were involved in the Trump Tower meeting with Donald Trump Jr. and Natalia Veselnitskaya et al.
Fusion GPS is also tied to corrupt Venezuelan officials.
The Washington Times reports, “Thor Halvorssen, head of the New York-based Human Rights Foundation, said in testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee that Fusion GPS operated a smear campaign against journalists who threatened to expose a multibillion dollar fraud involving faulty South American electric power plants, the laundering of its proceeds in U.S. banks, and a kickback scheme to pay off Venezuelan officials.
Mr. Halvorssen wrote further in testimony, “Corrupt government officials in dictatorships would be powerless if they didn’t have cronies in the business world, and these cronies, in turn, would be useless allies without enablers like Fusion GPS, who are eager to whitewash and profit from their crimes.”
Fusion GPS also compiled data for George Soros, targeting the David Daleidon group in California who conducted a video sting which proved Planned Parenthood was selling baby body parts.
Senator Chuck Grassley has described Fusion GPS as pro-Russian lobbyists.
One must remember that the Trump dossier was brought to the United States by an aide to Senator John McCain at his behest. McCain then delivered it to Jim Comey, then-FBI director.
