Harry Reid, the religious Morman who is leading the fight against religious freedom.

Sen. Harry Reid and congressional Democrats plan to overrule the SCOTUS (Supreme Court of the United States) Hobby Lobby decision with legislation that will help obliterate religious freedom as secured by the First Amendment.

Democrats on Capitol Hill have overwhelmingly made it clear that they will pass a bill that supersedes the high court’s ruling in the Hobby Lobby case.

I imagine they want to use the faux war on women to win elections in November.

They apparently have a pen and phone and are willing to use it against SCOTUS, our First Amendment, and the rights of religious persons who are members of a group or corporation.

The Hobby Lobby case was based on the protections afforded by the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA), a federal law passed in 1993, signed by President Bill Clinton and approved by almost every member of Congress.

The Hobby Lobby case was not fought on constitutional grounds.

If this case had been lost, it would have meant that a religious individual who enters the for-profit realm cannot also adhere to religious values if a government agency – in this case Health and Human Services – says it can’t. In other words, a Kathleen Sebelius, a mere head of an agency, could have ultimate authority over rights of conscience.

Reid now promises to “do something” about the SCOTUS decision even though this act in no way keeps women from birth control or abortifacients. They can get them for free or for about $9 a month from Planned Parenthood or better yet, they could pay for them themselves.

This case is in no way an intrusion on women’s rights, it is only an intrusion on religious freedom.

Townhall.com reported that “The National Organization of Women (NOW) has compiled a list of what they’re calling the “Dirty 100″ — organizations who have filed suit against the HHS Contraception Mandate. One of the “Dirty 100″ organizations that NOW claims is simply “using religion” to discriminate against women, is, in fact, a group of Catholic religious sisters called the Little Sisters of the Poor.”

NOW is a far-left group of angry women and they are willing to assault the Little Sisters of the Poor! Is that a winning argument? Has our country gone that far astray?

A foul-mouthed Federal court judge did them all one better.

“As the kids say, it is time for the Court to stfu,” Judge Richard George Kopf said, blasting the Supreme Court after the Hobby Lobby ruling.

“In the Hobby Lobby cases, five male Justices of the Supreme Court, who are all members of the Catholic faith and who each were appointed by a President who hailed from the Republican party, decided that a huge corporation, with thousands of employees and gargantuan revenues, was a ‘person’ entitled to assert a religious objection to the Affordable Care Act’s contraception mandate because that corporation was ‘closely held’ by family members,” the judge wrote in a blog post first flagged by Think Progress.“To the average person, the result looks stupid and smells worse.”

Kopf said the ruling looks “misogynist,” “partisan” and “religiously motivated.”

It is religiously motivated, they’re PRESERVING FREEDOM OF RELIGION!

Is it possible for a Federal judge to be this moronic? Maybe he’s been doing drugs? First of all, his language is disrespectful and disgusting and secondly, the decision simply followed the 1993 law as written. It has absolutely nothing to do with gay people or their rights.

Gay rights groups don’t understand the ruling either. Several major gay rights groups withdrew support for the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) that would bolster gay and transgender rights in the workplace, because they think the ruling somehow gives broad religious exemptions that might compel private companies to begin citing objections similar to those that prevailed in the Hobby Lobby case.

They are clueless. The Hobby Lobby ruling was the only proper ruling based on a law passed by Congress and signed by Bill Clinton in 1993.

I know we are lawless now but does anything go? Lying has become a way of life for our government. Religious people need to worry – they are on the receiving end of bigotry and tyranny.

Our country was founded on Judeo-Christian values and religious freedom was so important that it was in the First Amendment to the Constitution. We are apparently becoming a country that disdains those very values that made us great and we are doing it in a disrespectful and vulgar way.
