Democrats vowed on Monday to shut down the government over any spending bill that includes funds for a border wall. In a letter to Republicans Democrat senate leader Chuck Schumer also demanded taxpayer dollars on Planned Parenthood.
This takes unmitigated gall but they have the full support of the left-wing media to distort the facts and cast blame on Republicans if it happens.
Democrats are counting on Republicans being blamed for the shutdown as they were blamed over the last shutdown. Although 83% of the government was still running, it was painted as a catastrophe.
The Democrat plan in 2013 was to hurt ordinary Americans so they would blame the Republicans. The same will happen this time unless Trump can make if hurt the left.
“If Republicans insist on inserting poison pill riders such as defunding Planned Parenthood, building a border wall, or starting a deportation force, they will be shutting down the government and delivering a severe blow to our economy,” the Democrats under Schumer said in a letter to top Republicans.
During the last shutdown, the Democrats under Barack Obama shut down the NIH, parks, cemeteries, blocked off cutouts in the road that allowed tourists to stop and look at the sites. The ruling Democrats wouldn’t let elderly World War II and Korean War veterans see the memorial though some were dying.
Privately run museums, inns, parks, and marinas were lso shut down despite the fact that it takes no federal resources to run them.

Federal workers were furloughed and money to veterans was cut. Income for the elderly was next on the chopping block.
The National Mall in DC was closed at the time but Obama approved an amnesty rally. Organizers for the “Camino Americano: March for Immigration Reform” were on the National Mall for two days. Thirty members of Congress and the Obamas showed up for a photo op, along with Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Robert Menendez (D-NJ).

All the while, John McCain joined with the Democrats pillorying Ted Cruz who pushed for the shutdown to get necessary cuts to the burgeoning budget.
Obama refused to negotiate during budget discussions. He claimed falsely that Republicans weren’t reasonable. He doubled the budget and every year, the Republicans ended up approving spending bills to cover his socialist extravagances for fear of a government shutdown.
Obama says at the end of this next clip that he would not negotiate on lifting the debt ceiling.
Obama’s useful idiots were out demanding the shutdown end.
