President Obama has managed to divide us on every issue and along every conceivable racial, religious and gender line since he began his tenure as president. This past week, he divided the Cuban community and has them fighting with each other over his recent decision to recognize Cuba without the Cuban dictators giving up anything.
The first paragraph of the NY Times on December 20th says it all:
“President Raúl Castro declared victory for the Cuban Revolution on Saturday in a wide-ranging speech, thanking President Obama for “a new chapter” while also reaffirming that restored relations with the United States did not mean the end of Communist rule in Cuba.”
We surrendered after more than fifty years and ten presidents who held the line against this vicious regime that has sworn to continue business as usual.
Maybe it doesn’t say it all. The Communists in this country love the decision:
Cuba has more than 57,000 political prisoners and we did nothing with our latest action except condone it and prop up these vicious communist dictators.
We are making the mistake of thinking that free enterprise will somehow change them though we know they won’t allow the people to benefit and despite the fact that it didn’t work in China, the Middle East or Vietnam.
He has a very different standard for Israel. He expects them to return to pre-1967 borders and won’t even allow them to build apartment buildings without threatening retaliation.
Listen to this Cuban family on the issue:
