Senate Intelligence Begins What the Left Hopes Will Become a Watergate-Style Committee

The Senate Intelligence Committee is going to “force”, to use the media’s word, Trump officials to testify about alleged ties to Russia. It is launching an inquiry into the alleged Russian hacks to influence the US election, during which they plan to interview senior members of the incoming Trump administration, The Independent UK reported.

In a joint statement, committee chairman Republican Sen Richard Burr and vice chairman Democratic Sen Mark Warner said they would examine “counterintelligence concerns related to Russia and the 2016 US election, including intelligence regarding links between Russia and individuals associated with political campaigns.

In the statement released Friday evening, Mr Burr said the committee would subpoena members of the Trump team and the Obama administration “if necessary”.

“As part of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence’s oversight responsibilities,” the statement said, “we believe that it is crucial to have a full understanding of the scope of Russian intelligence activities impacting the United States.”

Mr Warner said in a separate statement that the “issue impacts the foundations of our democratic system, it’s that important.”

The entire purpose of this is to denigrate Trump and trash his administration.

Social media is going wild with this and it’s not in favor of Trump.

Trump has to make a lot of dramatic changes in the beginning or his goose is cooked.

It’s Brilliant Manipulation

The left has managed to get all the attention off Hillary and the Democrats after all the corruption, lying and endless unethical activities. They must have geniuses doing their PR.

The Left has turned DNC-Hillary scandals into an investigation of ties between Trump and Putin though there is evidence for the former, none for the latter.

Anyone remember how Democrats stole the election from Bernie before it began? And held Bernie back illicitly all along the way?

Hillary’s corruption, her pay-to-play antics, the lies, the paid rioters, the numerous plots to steal the election, remember? Anyone?

Hillary gave foreign powers access to top secret information, but no one cares about that. She and Huma left their phones on a bed in China, as if the Chinese weren’t all over that. No one is talking about that. Huma’s pervert husband had top secret information on his computer. It’s forgotten.

All we talk about are imaginary ties, unproven connections between Trump, his team and Russia.

This committee and any others to investigate Trump and his staff will probably end as inconclusive because the pre-determined goal is to tie his presidency to Russia. It’s not intended to exonerate, just cast a shadow of doubt over him for four years.

Every move he makes in foreign affairs will be described as that of someone catering to the Russian president.
