DNC Highlights from a Reformed Liberal

“Ideologies aren’t all that important. What’s important is psychology.  The Democratic constituency is just like a herd of cows. All you have to do is lay out enough silage and they come running. That’s why I became an operative working with Democrats. With Democrats all you have to do is make a lot of noise, lay out the hay, and be ready to use the ole cattle prod in case a few want to bolt the herd.”

~ James Carville, Democratic Strategist and  herder of cows

Leading up to the convention, two California delegates, whose names are being kept secret, returned to their Charlotte hotel as drunk as Lords. One delegate appeared to be unconscious and was taken to the hospital. The other became unruly, nasty, unmanageable, and was finally sent home. [SF Gate] Not much mention of it in the news.

The Democratic platform removed God and any mention of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. You will be happy to know, however, that partial birth abortion was in the platform.

Leaving “God” out of the Democratic platform might have been a bad idea because a plague struck the partying Dems. It wasn’t locusts – it was bed bugs, lots of them, at nine of the hotels being used by the Dems. [Bed Bug Plague]

Then the convention began. The Democratic message is: it’s Bush’s fault; the wealthy need to pay more; Romney-Ryan don’t get it but Obama does; destroy nuclear weapons; and free contraception and abortion for all is about women’s health.

Debbie Wasserman-Schultz spoke with unfettered enthusiasm as the debt ceiling passed $16 trillion. In her speech, she said that the Democratic Party is all-inclusive. Isn’t that the truth. They now include Communists and Socialists. In fact, 70 of them in Congress are members of the Democratic Socialist Caucus.

For the first time in our history, the Communist Party USA has put out an urgent call for the re-election of Barack Obama. In the communist newspaper, People’s World, Marxists John Case and Cliff Kincaid blabbered about the dangers of Republicanism and the superiority of an Obama presidency.

John Case is a fascist who thinks Republicans are fascists. In his article of June 8th, he made it clear that he wants the spending to continue, which will happen under an Obama second term.

On June 27th, Cliff Kincaid said “…re-electing Obama is absolutely essential,” and warns that “divisions among Democrats and a potential wave of bad economic news can combine to threaten President Obama’s reelection.”

They both wrote about the dangers of a Romney win. You can read both articles via this link, Socialists & Communists Come Out Strong for Barack Obama Re-Election

It is not surprising that communists support Barack. They all want big government, a welfare state, social justice and to spread the wealth.

What would the convention have been like without the champion of taxpayer-funded contraception and abortion – HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. She used her speech time to tie Obamacare to Romneycare. She also said contraception and abortion are about women’s health. Why isn’t contraception about men’s health? Just wondering.

She demonized insurance companies, Republicans, and the wealthy as she described what change looks like.

Sebelius said that under Obamacare we will all have insurance as good as Paul Ryan’s. If that were the case, congress wouldn’t be exempt from Obamacare.

She talked about the nonsensical health insurance refunds which will amount to $36 for me.

Sebelius said Obama fights for the middle class and Romney-Ryan fight for the rich. Ho..Hum.

Rahm Emanuel, inventor of crisis leadership, told a heartwarming story about Obama reading ten letters each day from middle classers. Interesting how Rahm couldn’t come up with one personal story about something human Obama actually did for another human. Romney sits at childrens’ death beds and Obama reads letters. I wonder how Obama had time to read those letters on the golf course?

Rahm straightened us all out about jobs. He said Obama created four and-a-half million jobs [not enough to even keep up with economic growth] but he did omit the 8.3% unemployment figure.

Rahm pontificated about the success of the American auto companies, which is all thanks to Obama [spending our money].

Chrysler is now a mostly Italian company and GM is a failure which relies on taxpayer dollars to survive. [Obama bailed out the UAW, not the car companies]. Rahm seems to think auto bankruptcy would have destroyed Chrysler and GM when in actuality, it would have saved the car companies but the unions would have had to give up something. They gave up nothing.

Rahm praised the huggable union thugs that Obama supports.

Rahm talked about values and he knows values. Remember when he told the gangs that are destroying Chicago they should take it to the alley so the children survive? Man, does he have values or what!

Ted Kennedy was channeled in a weird twenty-four minutes of video. I’m still trying to figure out how Ted ever came back from causing the death of Mary Jo Kopechne and leaving her to die. Now he’s coming back from the dead.

The new shining light of the Democratic Party, Julian Castro, gave all the Democratic talking points which proves that an immigrant child can come from poor circumstances, go through Ivy League colleges, and, one day, give a phony stump speech.

A propaganda video of Michelle was professionally done. It was good. I liked it.

Obama said he was going to watch Michelle’s speech with his girls and the hardest part was going to be not letting his girls see his tears. Give me a break.

A military mom introduced Michelle. Michelle was her sweetest self from the moment she stomped onto the stage. I hope no one saw the tears in my eyes as she almost cried thanking the military mom. She talked about the military as the camera flashed on veterans in the front rows.

She talked about love and her humble beginnings as a middle class kid. She repeated her often-told story of her father with MS and the sacrifices he made.

Michelle appears to be trying to present herself as a standard bearer of the American dream and as more loving than Ann Romney.

She spoke about the auto industry, all the jobs Obama created, Obamacare, and the worthless Lily Ledbetter law.

She spoke indirectly about sharing the wealth and social justice. She clothed it as the more laudable goal of providing opportunity to other people so they have the same chance to succeed that we had. She ended with a dramatic crescendo reflective of Reverend Wright speeches. She spent twenty years in that church too.

Michelle Obama did a great job of reading from the teleprompter.

It was a big government night for big government people.

I can no longer stand big government or their propaganda. I can’t stand the phoniness of these events.
