Dr. Ben Carson

Last year, Dr. Ben Carson was a keynote speaker at the Business Council of Alabama Chairman’s Dinner and he said this, “I had my first encounter with the IRS, not surprisingly, after the prayer breakfast,” Carson quipped. “They weren’t able to find anything.” He does believe the targeting by the IRS was not a coincidence.

He hasn’t backed down and is speaking out against government control. At a Jan. 31 fundraiser, he said that secular Progressives want to “fundamentally change who we are,” and are keeping “a blanket of silence over the majority.” He said people are afraid to speak out because of the IRS targeting.

He asked people to think about NAZI Germany. “There comes a time when people with values simply have to stand up. Think about Nazi Germany,” he said. “Most of those people did not believe in what Hitler was doing. But did they speak up? Did they stand up for what they believe in? They did not, and you saw what happened.”

“And if you believe that same thing can’t happen again, you’re very wrong,” Carson added. “But we’re not going to let it happen.”
