We are currently buying peace in Egypt. We are not funding them to repair their businesses, help their poor, and restore their economy, we are empowering their military.
The current administration in Egypt clearly hates the US and Israel. One day they will use the weapons against us or our allies – at least they hope so.
The Egyptian prosecutor general for the Muslim Brotherhood (their Eric Holder) passed a law in March permitting ordinary Egyptians to make what amounts to carte blanche arrests of foreigners in Egypt for things like suspicion of ‘spying’ or blasphemy, or pretty much anything else that goes against Egypt’s sharia-based legal code.
It is a real tourism-killer but they surely don’t want our tourism dollars. They want the Obama funding which goes towards building up their offensive military operations.
Around the time of the anti-tourism law, John Kerry gave Egypt $250 million. He wanted to give more but Congress put the brakes on. This was during the dreaded sequester. We sent $1.3 billion in military aid in one year.
In January of this year, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama conducted a joint interview with 60 Minutes on CBS in which they both took credit for the Muslim Brotherhood takeover of Egypt.
Egypt has formed an alliance with Hamas and Fatah under Morsi’s reign.
In this video, we can hear the latest thinking from one of Egypt’s politicians. He expressed his true feelings because he thought it was a secret meeting.
Morsi said on September 21st of last year that amending his country’s peace treaty with Israel [1979 peace accords] is just “a matter of time.” He wants Egypt in full control of the Sinai Peninsula. Morsi added that the 1979 accord “preserves Israel‘s national security more than Egypt’s, which constitutes a blatant violation of Egyptian sovereignty,” and that it would not endure under Egypt’s new leaders.
In November 2012, the head of the Brotherhood, Mohammed Badie, blasted Israel as “the project of the devil” during a speech at an Islamic conference in the Sudanese capital of Khartoum.
Morsi has continually sided with Hamas in Gaza and threatened to join forces with them. Hamas is hell-bent on Israel’s destruction.
Last November when our President and our Secretary of State praised Mohammed Morsi for establishing peace between Gaza and Israel, we all knew it was a fabrication. In fact, the Hamas leader thanked his “dear Egypt” and warned Israel against violating the agreement, which they have since violated.
The Times of Israel reported at the time:
Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh thanked Egypt and Iran on Thursday for their support in helping make “Israel scream with pain,” he said. ”If you commit, we will commit. If you do not commit, the rifles are in our hands,” he said.
He said “it’s a sign of pride to the whole world.” We “did not raise a white flag. Israel screamed with pain from what the resistance did to it. I thank everyone who provided us with arms and money, especially Iran.”
By January 2012, we sent 20 F-16’s and 200 Abrams tanks to Egypt.
