Brzezinski and Carter – The Return of the Carter Administration

“I would do it again.” talking Afghanistan 1979 with Zbigniew Brzezinski.

Zbigniew Brzezinski was Carter’s National Policy Adviser. He is a scholar of the left who has served in some capacity in each Democratic administration. He, along with Samantha Powers, are advising Barack Obama and both are anti-Israel.

Brzezinski is a globalist and a believer in social justice and redistribution. He wants a list of the wealthy to be published so they can be forced to give back. He has predicted a middle class uprising. He doesn’t believe the Syrian conflict is as serious or dramatic as it is being made out to be. [Daily Caller]

In an interview to MSNBC, he claimed the Hamas attacks on Sderot were not lethal, just annoying and the Israeli military response was unjustified. The Kassam attacks went on so long that Brzezinski believed them to be unimportant. He is opposed to the IDF operations because of the effect it might have on the Palestinians feelings about Israel as if they liked Israel before. He is concerned that the moderate Fatah appears collaborationist and intimated that collaboration with Israel on restoring peace is the wrong road.

Brzezinski is opposed to any “settlements” or building by Israel in their own country. He has called for forcing a settlement on the Israelis and Palestinians regardless of their will and their own sovereign rights.

Ehud Barak, Israeli Defense Minister, offered a deal to Arafat that would give the Palestinians a portion of Jerusalem. Arafat never considered the deal but Brzezinski claims Arafat did not stonewall this amazing deal. It has been put back on the table but only the naive would believe peace is the objective of the terrorist states. [Haaretz] and [Ynet News]

Brzezinski and Jimmy Carter supported the rise of radical Islam during Carter’s administration. Brzezinski was considered a hawk at the time. He told the Jihadists that their “cause is right and God is on their side.” He said at the time that al Qaeda does not exist.

By his own proud admission, Brzezinski enticed the Soviet Union to invade Afghanistan in December, 1979. The idea, he said, was to weaken their rival superpower and the result was a ten-year occupation that cost the lives of an estimated 1.3 million Afghans and spawned the Mujahedin, Taliban and Osama bin Laden.

Both parties have contributed to the rise of Islam but the forces at work in Carter’s administration and the current one have been the most radical and are extremely dangerous. Our intervention throughout the decades since the disastrous Carter era has wrought both benefits and harm. The rise of Islam is creating a perfect storm which Brzezinski blames, not on the Islamists, but rather, on the Israelis and the United States.

In addition to the devastation to the region caused by the Brotherhood and the Arab Spring, it is still the women, Christians, Shias, liberals and other minorities who are most in danger. The forces of evil are growing in the name of God. Moderate nations like Indonesia, Pakistan, Mali et al have been infected.

After 9/11, Brzezinski took a leadership role in forming the Afghan mujaheddin network. He countered that blame ought to be laid at the feet of the Soviet Union’s invasion, which radicalized the relatively stable Muslim society. This was the invasion he encouraged.

He heavily criticized George W. Bush’s ‘war on terror’ and is a sharp critic of the invasion of Iraq which rid us of a horrific dictator whom we believed had weapons of mass destruction. Brzezinski believes that Saddam protected the region from Iran’s excesses and other forces of evil. In fact, Saddam, ever the paranoid, was a source of constant turmoil in the region. [NY Times]

February interview on MSNBC with Brzezinski –

Brzezinski, gave an interview to The Daily Beast in which he suggested President Obama should advise Israel that if they attempt to attack Iran’s nuclear weapons sites the U.S. will blow them out of the sky.

“We are not exactly impotent little babies,” Brzezinski said. “They have to fly over our airspace in Iraq. Are we just going to sit there and watch? … We have to be serious about denying them that right. That means a denial where you aren’t just saying it. If they fly over, you go up and confront them. They have the choice of turning back or not. No one wishes for this but it could be a ‘Liberty’ in reverse.”

“A war in the Middle East, in the present context, may last for years,” Brzezinski, who served in the Carter White House, tells Newsmax in an exclusive interview. “And the economic consequences of it are going to be devastating for the average American.

“High inflation. Instability. Insecurity. Probably significant isolation for the United States in the world scene,” Brzezinski said. “Can you name me any significant country that’s going to be in that war together on our side?

“That’s something no one can afford to ignore.” [ABC News]

Brzezinski’s repeated failures on the foreign policy front has not stopped him or the leaders he advises. Failure is not a problem only a difference in ideology.

In an interview with Newsmax, Brzezinski leveled what can only be considered another threat against Israel and a diminution of U.S. support for Israel should they attempt to bomb Iran’s nuclear sites. It might explain Ehud Barak’s recent call for a divided nation and a divided Jerusalem as a solution to peace in the Middle East, which, as I said earlier, has been roundly rejected by the opposition in the past when Arafat was alive and since.

“That’s something no one can afford to ignore,” Brzezinski added.

It was only months ago, that Obama warned Israel that any war they incited with Iran would cause deaths to U.S. soldiers. Obama revealed a possible Israeli launch site at about the same time which violated Israel-U.S. confidentiality and any effectiveness that Israel might have.

This interview with Brzezinski is more of the same. Listen to the Newsmax video here.

Americans do not have the heart to get into another war but Brzezinski’s lack of support for Israel is placing the only democratic ally in the region in far worse danger. Brzezinski, former hawk, is now an extremist on the diplomacy front. He wants to bargain with the devil without other options such as the strongest sanctions and certainly no saber rattling.

One of the most absurd bits of propaganda the I have heard is if Iran gets the bomb, they won’t use it anyway because no one has used the bomb, not even North Korea. If Iran gets the bomb, they will use it. They have said they will use it and they will team up with North Korea. They will have immense and unacceptable power in the region.

Brzezinski talks in Newspeak. He is brilliant and has a way with words. He can make anything believable. He says he is afraid of a totalitarian government where the rich rule as he demonizes the rich in a way that would lead us into totalitarianism. He claims he wants to make Israel safe while saying we should be willing to blow them out of the sky. Do not listen to his words for their surface meaning, look at what he has done and what ideas lie behind his words.
