The new healthcare system will prove to be tyrannical. Freedom of religion is gone, privacy is gone, care for the elderly and the very sick is being eviscerated, and the American hospital system will never be the same.
I can prove it.
1. REPLACING RELIGIOUS AND PRIVATE HOSPITALS WITH GOVERNMENT INSTITUTIONS
Some hospitals are preparing to close on Long Island and they are closing because of the suffocating regulations and costs of Obamacare.
There is an imminent threat to Catholic hospitals, the same hospitals that provide care to one out of every six Americans. On Long Island, they are among the finest hospitals. The Catholic institutions do great work and their loss will throw our healthcare system into irreversible death throes.
The HHS mandate will require Catholic hospitals to provide abortion-inducing drugs and services to employees in direct opposition to their core teachings. The Catholics either violate their conscience or close the hospitals that are so vital to so many. The penalties that will be imposed are insurmountable.
Catholic hospitals provide care for the poor and needy that will not be equaled in the government institutions that may or may not take their place.
Where will you go for your care?
It is not simply care that is lost in this, it is freedom of religion.
2. DRASTIC CHANGES TO SENIOR HEALTHCARE
There are now rewards for hospitals that do not help seniors and there are penalties for those that do according to IBD:
“Medicare spending per beneficiary.” Hospitals that spend the least on seniors get bonus points, and higher-spending hospitals get demerits. Hospitals will even be penalized for care consumed up to 30 days after patients are discharged, for example, for outpatient physical therapy following a hip or knee replacement.
Hospitals that take in fewer elderly patients will now be rewarded under Obamacare. Do you really want to go to a hospital that takes rewards for helping fewer seniors?
IBD reported that on October 1, the Obama administration began awarding bonus points to hospitals that spent the least on elderly patients.
The seniors who need joint replacements, bypass surgery or cataract operations will no longer get them unless they are lucky enough to be connected to someone in power.
Pain from diseased and untreated joints causes 50% more heart attacks. The cost of not doing many of these surgeries will be a loss of life for some and a diminution in the quality of life for others.
Hospitals are also being punished for taking care of seniors too often. Medicare penalizes hospitals that take in the same seniors more than once in a month. They keep records so it doesn’t matter if the senior goes to a different hospital – the government will know. Go to CMS.gov to learn about the readmissions reduction program.
When people talk of death panels, they are not being conspiratorial or melodramatic. It is reality and it is coming quickly.
Obama took $716 billion from future Medicare payments to doctors and hospitals and moved the money over to the Medicaid expansion. The expansion is meant to bring the country into a single payer, government-run healthcare system. Medicare has to become rationed care as a result.
Where will your parents and grandparents go? The waits will be long and people will die waiting for help.
When did we stop caring about our elderly and why?
Remember what Mr. Obama said about Mrs. Sturm?
3. THE END OF THE CHARITABLE HOSPITAL
Obamacare will put an end to charitable hospitals. The Daily Caller posted an article on October 8th about the end of charitable hospitals.
The government is going to install new fines on hospitals that take in charity patients.
Under Section 501 of the Internal Revenue Code which takes effect under Obamacare, nonprofit hospitals will undergo new bureaucratic scrutiny of their status and face massive new fines. These are hospitals that service the poor and uninsured. They account for 60% of American hospitals.
They will be continually made to justify the need for their nonprofit status in their geographical area as defined by Obamacare and IRS enforcers. If they treat the poor in an average geographical area, they could lose their status. If they don’t comply, they will lose their nonprofit status. If they do lose it, they will be forced to become for-profits that pay tax and do not concentrate on treating the poor.
The rise in the number of insured poor, who will be subsidized by the Americans not receiving subsidies, will make it impossible for these hospitals to meet the requirements. In other words, nonprofit hospitals will disappear.
Keep in mind that the government is a profit-making institution. It grants favors and rewards to those who do its bidding. We are losing our Capitalist, free market system, and replacing it with crony Capitalism aka crony Socialism.
Write your congressman. Send letters to the editor of your local papers. Do something!
4. THE LOSS OF THE 4TH AMENDMENT
The Affordable Care Act is unaffordable. The premiums are double and triple for many and more are currently losing their health insurance than acquiring it. Congress and the Executive have given themselves and their workers a 75% subsidy because it is unaffordable. However if the common man or woman doesn’t pay, s/he will be fined.
We know that the IRS targets people and yet we don’t seem to mind that they will be the enforcement arm of Obamacare – the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
The IRS can now access your records without a warrant. There are no real restraints on them.
The healthcare.gov website has little security because your privacy is not an important issue for the government.
There is a notice on the source code for healthcare.gov that says users should have:
“…no reasonable expectation of privacy about communication or data stored on the system.”
Representatives Barton and Pallone argued over the HIPAA laws in this video but the overriding concern should be that once you are signed up on this site, there is no expectation of privacy, period.
There is no question that this information will be used by the government. There are thousands of employees who will have access to your information. There will be requests by law enforcement, auditors, and lawyers involved in court cases asking for the information and there will be no reasonable expectation of privacy.
Pallone is using ridicule and obfuscation in the video above. Don’t fall for it. Obamacare is a direct attack on the 4th Amendment.
We are losing our right to choose and our right to privacy. The government will choose for us and they will use our private information for their purposes.
If we don’t speak up now, when will we?
We are face-to-face with tyranny and Obamacare is a tragedy.
