The Gawker is a blog that exists on gossip about celebrities, the media industry, and critiques of news outlets and NY-centric, all based on anonymous tips, mistakes by media, and blog reporting. They engage in the lowest form of reporting.
The Gawker has joined the Journal News in their attack on legal gun owners. They have released the names of every gun owner in New York City. They did not have addresses. The list is four years old and undoubtedly inaccurate.
They did this in spite of the danger people now face because of the prior release of names by the Journal News.
John Cook entitled this article:
“Here Is a List of
All the Assholes Handsome Law-Abiding Citizens Who Own Guns Some People in New York City”
One of the commenters to the article said this:
The journal posted my address and name for my gun ownership. My past stalker saw this. I haven’t heard from him in two years, because I disappeared. Now he is back and calling me……thanks to people like you bunch of assholes, looks like I will have to protect myself from becoming a murder victim. Gracias.
Cook doesn’t care, they’re just “Assholes” to him.
His article rants that NYS law explicitly and unambiguously demands the information on gun owners be made public. He wholeheartedly supports the right of the Journal News to publish the names and addresses of gun owners.
He then uses conservative Ann Coulter as the reason for his producing the list. He quoted her on the Hannity Show as saying, sardonically, “I want to know how many rich liberals with their body guards have gun permits.”
Cook, without regard for the people of NYC who have not committed any crime, published his 446 page list of every licensed gun owner in New York City. He said, “You’re in luck, Ann. I happened to have just such a list in my filing cabinet. Here it is.”
He doesn’t think much of the NYPD who gave him the list,
“Because the NYPD is more interested in raping and/or eating ladies and spying on Muslims than it is in honoring public records law, the list contains only the names, and not the addresses, of the licensees…”
He laments that he has to go to court for addresses. He appears enraged that Putnam County is not obeying the law and releasing the names and addresses which he claims is because of an alliance between Roger Ailes and Sen. Greg Ball.
He goes on to list the names of rich Republicans who own guns, people he previously outed, such as Sean Hannity who believes he and his family are in danger because of it. He referred to two other sites where gun owners are listed and told Ann Coulter to “have at it.”
He then says,
In any case, it’s clear that many of the Rockland County and Westchester County gun owners who are outraged at having their addresses plastered on the internet have had those addresses plastered on the internet for years without it causing a problem. And if anyone wanted to really stir some shit up, they’d grab those Who’s Packing databases and throw them up on Google Maps. [Cook’s vocabulary is wanting and he must rely on the use of vulgar words}
He thinks he’s clever because he can find and publish information to hurt people and attack conservatives at the same time. He’s a genius.
He then published the full, searchable NYPD list saying,
(And for the record, they are not all assholes. Some of them need guns for legitimate reasons for their jobs, like providing security for assholes.)
Without any regard for their privacy or their safety, he not only published the information, he did so with vile insults. If one person is harmed, he must be held to account for his behavior.
Peter Cook is one big “a$$h@le.” He worked for the Soros-funded “Mother Jones” a leftist propaganda publication.
To prove my point that he is an “a$$h@le..” what kind of person would spread gossip using anonymous tips, mistakes and blogs? Cook said he’s a product of his environment and apples don’t fall far from the tree he comes from. Was that tree rooted in Hell?
Anyone who would write for Gawker is an “a$$h@le.”
Check out a few of the esteemed publication’s stories:
- Gawker has a Gawker Stalker map which lists celebrity sightings, putting celebrities and their families in harm’s way.
- The Gawker has gone after Tom Cruise, Sarah Palin, and published the peephole video of Erin Andrews.
- On August 17, 2009, Gawker obtained and posted an exclusive video of actor Eric Dane and his wife Rebecca Gayheart naked with beauty-queen and former Miss Teen USA Kari Ann Peniche.
- Cook himself wrongly tagged a flight attendant as Arnold Scwarzenegger’s baby Mama. He can be loose with the facts.
- The Editor-in-Chief of the Gawker once published Bret Favres’ most private body part despite pleadings by the alleged girlfriend not to do so.
Gawker posted a comment on their site stating that they are getting death threats. Who could believe anything they say? That’s another publicity gimmick. If true, they deserve the same consideration they have given others.
