In the latest Jonathan Gruber videos, Gruber insulted the intelligence of Vermonters and boasted that Ted Kennedy conned the federal government out of hundreds of millions of dollars on behalf of Massachusetts for their healthcare. He also mentions the fact that Obama didn’t care all that much about the uninsured.
In prior videos, linked here, Gruber lies about the federal subsidies (now before the Supreme Court), insults Americans, and talks about Obama being in on the Cadillac tax deception.
For people who didn’t pay attention to the Cadillac tax ruse, the government saw that it wouldn’t fly if they admitted they were taxing people’s healthcare so they claimed they were taxing the insurance companies as if it weren’t a tax on healthcare. The Republicans tried to tell people but it fell on deaf ears for half the country. Most of the other half probably knew the truth but they felt the same way Gruber feels.
It wasn’t stupidity as Gruber believes (he’s a dumb bunny), it was powerlessness and deceit.
In the first video Jonathan Gruber explains that Sen. Ted Kennedy was able to “rip off the federal government for $400 million dollars a year”.
Go to the 12:00 mark:
The American public are not only stupid they don’t care about the uninsured if one were to listen to Gruber. He also makes the White House look pretty bad by saying President Obama focused on how the Affordable Care Act would bring down the cost of health care, not on the moral imperative of extending health insurance to millions of low- and moderate-income Americans. Obama didn’t care all that much about the uninsured (as if we didn’t know already).
This is what he says in the next video:
“Barack Obama’s not a stupid man, okay? He knew when he was running for president that quite frankly the American public doesn’t actually care that much about the uninsured. … What the American public cares about is costs. And that’s why even though the bill that they made is 90 percent health insurance coverage and 10 percent about cost control, all you ever hear people talk about is cost control. How it’s going to lower the cost of health care, that’s all they talk about.”
In the next video, Gruber insults a Vermonter who was quoted in an article which was later read at a committee meeting he attended. Gruber asks if it was written by his “adolescent children”. His nasty, condescending remark was met with raucous laughter with one woman saying, “almost.”
I’m sure they are all geniuses. As Obamacare has unfolded, everything the Vermonter said was right on the money. If it were written by an adolescent child, which it wasn’t, that child would have been a lot smarter than these jerks. Gruber was lying but the people in the room laughed as if what he said made sense.
Watch the 2011 committee meeting:
As it turns out, it wasn’t written by an adolescent but by a “former senior policy adviser in the White House who knew something about health care systems”.
John McClaughry, a two-term state senator, wrote the comment in an op-ed weeks before the 2011 committee meeting. He told Vermont Watchdog he was not aware of this video, but of some of the others discovered this week in which Gruber bragged that he wrote deceptive policies to trick “stupid” American voters.
“No one should trust this man. … Based on the rest of the stuff that’s come out on the videos, nobody can trust this guy. He has no use for transparency, he thinks people are stupid, and he’ll do anything to get this thing through and pocket his $400,000. That’s not in the interest of the people of Vermont,” McClaughry said.
Gruber made $400,000 – to start – from Obama for Obamacare financial planning – our tax money – and that doesn’t count money he has been making off states like Vermont, Minnesota, Michigan and Massachusetts. It doesn’t count the millions he ended up with.
Democrats like to say Obamacare has slowed the rise in the cost of premiums but that can mostly be explained by the slow economy.
Gallup has a poll out saying that most people who have Obamacare like it but that’s because they’re mostly subsidized – about 4-5 million of them are subsidized out of 7.2 million. I’d love Obamacare too if someone else was paying my premiums. Actually, I wouldn’t because I wouldn’t keep my doctor.
Obamacare is a dog. It was sold to us with lies because we are all so “stupid”, Obama was in the room agreeing to the Cadillac tax deception, and the law was passed with bribery. Then Obama altered the law unconstitutionally repeatedly.
This next video is funny. Listen to Pelosi lie:
Josh Dis-Ernest tried to blame Republicans today in a press conference, claiming they haven’t explained their ideas.
Republicans own not one iota, not one tiny atom of Obamacare. It was written behind closed doors by the same arrogant types who now call us stupid. Republicans had no hand in this mess.
Jonathan Gruber was a senior policy adviser and an architect of Obamacare. He made millions of our tax money for his trouble in concocting lies.
Max Baucus sure thought Jonathan Gruber was important:
