Our government leaders, if you hadn’t noticed, have decided to respond to a small minority of citizens who feel the use of the words, “mother” and “father” is bigotry because of the gender implications. The government, as a result, is slowly removing the words from the lexicon.
The US passport has replaced the words “mother” and “father” with “parent one” and “parent two.” The government recently announced that they are doing the same with college financial aid reporting on tax forms.
It is not bigotry to use the words “mother” and “father,” but rather quite the opposite. We are being robbed of our free speech and our ability to use language appropriately.
The minority can do this because the majority refuses to speak out so Happy Parent One’s Day.
