A new email from the GOP presents some interesting choices for Donald Trump’s vice presidential nominee. It omits House Speaker Paul Ryan and other famous names including Sen. Ted Cruz, Ohio Gov. John Kasich and former Texas Gov. Rick Perry.
Instead, the email from the National Republican Senatorial Committee offers names – some losers – like Rep. Marsha Blackburn, former Sen. Scott Brown, Dr. Ben Carson, former Governor Jan Brewer, Sarah Palin, Maine Governor Paul LePage, Newt Gingrich, and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.
There is no way to know if Trump had anything to do with this list. Looking at some of these names, I’d say they’re trying to lose.
When asked about a Trump-Sessions ticket, the senator said, “it sure won’t be me…We’ve got enough problems.”
Sessions said that Trump “needs to get somebody who can help him win this election. And that’s what I support. And I’m not sure who that is, but I’m sure it won’t be me.”
Nikki Haley has already been eliminated by Donald Trump and Rick Scott, Governor of Florida said he doesn’t want the position and is enjoying his current position. Trump suggested Rubio would not be on the list but might be in mind for some position.
Bookies were betting on Martinez, Christie, Kasich, Haley, Sessions, Rubio and Gingrich but four are on the ‘no’ list, leaving Martinez, Christie, and Gingrich…to some of these, I can only say, ugh!
Breitbart added former Governor Huckabee to the list.
Other names mentioned but not in the advertised list are Rob Portman, Mary Fallin, Joe Scarborough, and Susanna Martinez who doesn’t seem interested.
Then there’s the plan to run a third party and turn the election over to Hillary.
