Update: There is word that it is a passport issue and the family is only detained, not arrested. Why did 50 security officials show up? They must have a lot of passport inspectors there. Keep praying for Meriam and her family, especially for those little babies.

Meriam Ibrahim, the innocent mother of two who was arrested for being a Christian and was imprisoned with her two babies was released from a brutal Sudanese prison just yesterday, only to be rearrested today. No reason was given.

She was at Khartoum’s airport on Tuesday when Sudan’s National Intelligence and Security Service detained her and her husband who is a U.S. citizen from New Hampshire.

It is unclear what other family members were arrested and where her children are.

The British told NBC News that she is “safe” for the time being.

Meriam was ‘very happy’ yesterday when she was released. Her lawyer Elshareef Ali Mohammed said a group of 50 security force personnel arrested her and family members during an angry confrontation at Khartoum’s airport on Tuesday.

Where is Barack Obama? The husband and two children are U.S. citizens.

Barack Obama’s brother, with whom he has a fairly visible relationship is an important figure in the Sudanese government. His brother also has a charity in Virginia that was approved by none other than Lois Lerner. Why isn’t Barack placing a call to his brother Malik Obama?

Sudan is one of the countries that believes in freedom of religion but Meriam’s crime was to have a Muslim father. She was raised a Christian by her mother after she was abandoned by the father when Meriam was six years old. The powers that be in the Sudan believe she rejected Islam and that is not allowed.
