House Members Step Up Investigations of Obama’s Illegal Activities

Barack Obama picks and chooses which laws he will follow and his Attorney General, Eric Holder, backs him up. He has violated the law and the Constitution without any real accountability. It appears that the House GOP is investigating his lawless activities and some want to find a way to stop him.

Freedom Outpost recently posted a letter from Rep. Kenny Marchant (R-TX), whose district includes areas around Ft. Worth and Dallas. He wrote to a constituent that Obama is “under the most scrutiny” and being investigated by the House, the Senate and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

He added, “I share your outrage over the multiple scandals involving the Internal Revenue Service, the State Department, the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Justice, and other agencies under this Administration. Each is alarming and each warrants a high degree of scrutiny.” Continue reading at Freedom Outpost

Eric Holder has been widely accused of criminalizing journalism and has violated the law at least twice in the case of the AP records grab and the James Rosen case.

Yesterday, Eric Holder announced new rules governing reporters will be released Saturday.

Holder didn’t need new rules, he only needed to follow the ones already in place. That being said, two rules he mentioned thus far are, according to the LA Times:

Under the new rules, prosecutors in nearly all cases would be required to give news organizations advance notice before seeking records of contacts between reporters and their sources. That would give a news organization time to challenge the demand for records in court.

Moreover, the department would be forbidden from using search warrants to obtain records from reporters except in cases in which the reporter is the target of a criminal investigation not involving news gathering. That rule abandoned the practice used in the Fox News case of branding a journalist as a possible co-conspirator in the crime of espionage.

“Members of the news media will not be subject to prosecution based solely on news gathering activities,” Holder said in a report to Obama.

Journalists are hailing the decision instead of decrying the fact that he violated the law in the first place.

The IRS scandal is not being investigated by the Obama administration from what we know now. We don’t even know if anyone has been appointed to investigate. No tea party person has been interviewed. The left is now saying that left groups were also targeted under the term “progressive” and “occupy” but none of those groups received unusual scrutiny – it’s a diversionary tactic.

The DOJ continues to stonewall on Benghazi, Fast & Furious, the IRS, and the AP and Rosen cases.

Sebelius is still changing HHS rules to get around the law and Obama recently waived the employer mandate, smoker’s fine, and anti-fraud measures in Obamacare until after the election.

Waiving the employer mandate and not the individual (individuals will still have to buy insurance) while waiving anti-fraud protections will get people to sign up for Obamacare and receive subsidies while no one is checking.

This is a violation of our Constitution. Obama has no authority to waive a law – or any part thereof – that was passed by Congress and which he signed.

Hispanic Business reports that U.S. Rep. Tom Marino, R-Pa. said in a radio interview Thursday he is exploring options available to Congress that would allow members to file civil or criminal actions against members of the Obama administration.

Marino was especially critical of  Obama’s “unilateral” decision regarding the waiving of the employer mandate without first seeking congressional approval. He should be. As I said, it is unconstitutional.

Marino was also critical of AG Holder who is entrusted with enforcing the laws of the land but will not.

Holder and Obama are very close and Holder has made the DOJ into a political organization.

“If the chief law enforcer of the country … will not enforce the law, and the president decides to break the law because he doesn’t like it, there has to be another mechanism by which we in Congress can kick into gear, pursue this, see if there are criminal charges we can file,” Marino said during an appearance on the David Madeira Show on “94.3 The Talker” in Scranton.

Marino plans to assemble attorneys to “meet with me in a brainstorming discussion to go over what I think the law allows Congress to do.” He said the next step would be to “approach leadership and say we need to appoint a special committee like there was in Watergate that has authority to subpoena people, that has authority to investigate; and, I’m looking for a part of a statute that says we have the authority to indict.”

“We’re beyond the point of showing that he’s incompetent. He’s no leader. He really doesn’t care about where this country’s going unless it’s his plan, so we have to step up,” Marino said.

Sarah Wolf, Marino’s spokeswoman, said her boss is essentially looking to “investigate, identify and prosecute people within the administration, up to an including the president if it comes to that.”

Rep. Marino represents Pennsylvania’s 10th Congressional District which covers a large area of Northern PA and portions of Central PA.

Barack Obama does not follow the Constitution or the rule of law and someone needs to hold him to account.
