Huffington Post has announced that they will no longer report Donald Trump campaign information as part of their political coverage. Their reason: “Trump’s campaign is a sideshow. We won’t take the bait. If you are interested in what The Donald has to say, you’ll find it next to our stories on the Kardashians and The Bachelorette.”
They should really cover Barack Obama that way, after all, the Iran deal is fictional comedy.
Aside from the obvious dickery, there is a serious problem here that all Americans should be concerned about. The media decides what we will see, what we will take seriously, what we will believe or not. They aren’t watchdogs, they’re lapdogs for an ideology.
It’s what the media does. We aren’t treated like adults and we are not allowed to have a serious discussion on anything they don’t want to discuss.
They are doing it with the Planned Parenthood (PP) story of selling body parts of aborted babies. They are willing to report that Planned Parenthood is sorry about the “tone” of the doctor. Dead babies are being torn apart like sides of beef and shipped out to labs but that’s not worthy of a front page.
The media emphasizes the excuses offered by Planned Parenthood when they do report. The Planned Parenthood video was “heavily edited,” PP says.
What is heavily edited about this:
“I’d say a lot of people want liver,” Dr, Nucatola said. “And for that reason, most providers will do this case under ultrasound guidance, so they’ll know where they’re putting their forceps.”
She went on to describe how they are able to acquire other organs without “crushing” them.
“We’ve been very good at getting heart, lung, liver, because we know that, so I’m not gonna crush that part, I’m gonna basically crush below, I’m gonna crush above, and I’m gonna see if I can get it all intact.”
They did the same thing with the Kermit Gosnell story. The media decided that a butcher who was killing born alive children in a filthy clinic was a local story.
We are not allowed to discuss abortion mills or the harvesting of aborted baby body parts. The media elites have made that decision.
Discussing closing the borders or deporting criminal illegal aliens is racist. Discussing the confederate flag, confederate generals, gender assignment, radical Islam is racist, homophobic, Islamophobic in that order.
Noticing that gangs and revolutionaries were leading the riots in Ferguson and elsewhere cannot be discussed. Discussing it is racist.
The left wants to shut down all opposition. They do it by shaming, insulting, threatening, but the one thing they don’t want is an honest discussion.
The college rape stories and the alleged rape culture are invented media stories. No matter how outrageous the rape stories and no matter how well they are debunked, the media won’t stop telling the false stories. The Duke LaCrosse players were pilloried on the media’s premise that men are guilty.
Trump is hitting a raw nerve and the media, as well as the political class, want it to stop. There is to be no discussion of illegal immigration. Now that criminal illegal immigration and sanctuary cities are the topic, the media has to shut it down.
They don’t want any discussion of jobs being sent overseas and bad trade deals either.
Anyone who disagrees is a fool, a radical, and an extremist. Everyone is a terrorist but the terrorists. Tea Party people are terrorists but radical Islamists are ignored.
One Charles Blow, an opinion writer for the New York Times, used Trump to attack the Republican party in the vilest of terms. Trump is what the party “deserves”, Blow asserted, because they have allegedly “nurtured anti-immigrant, xenophobic nastiness for years,” and have tried to do it “at the national level.”
Blow is using Trump to further the leftist argument that not wanting open borders is “xenophobic” and “anti-immigrant.” At the same time, he can demonize all Conservatives.
It’s a vile tactic but it’s effective.
Another New York Times story quoted Conservative Trump supporters saying they will take the country back from poor leaders, they want to be exceptional again, “USA! USA!” The Times twisted that into this.
The implication is that he will take the country back from incompetent leaders and undocumented immigrants. And this is where there is a darker side to his promises to make America great again, one that many critics, including Republicans, say feeds on xenophobia and racist caricatures of immigrants.
Problems don’t exist because the media says they don’t.
My point isn’t to promote Donald Trump but he needs to be heard without being slimed by a media bent on one mind, one voice.
Trump is characterized as a clown but he’s a clown who earned billions of dollars. Perhaps they are afraid of what he has to say. The media and the political classes love illegal immigration.
Journalists don’t exist except in limited quarters and the free press only exists for popular viewpoints. Investigative journalism is nonexistent.
We are the sheep and they are our shepherds. We are the lower class. They are the elites and they will decide for us.
