Uh oh for all of the people with pre-existing conditions who were expecting “free” healthcare. President Obama’s stopgap program to cover all the uncovered with pre-existing conditions is running out of money even though the program was supposed to end in 2014.
As a result, the program is winding down now. On Friday, according to the AP, administration officials announced that The Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan will stop taking new applications. People already in the plan will not lose coverage. Everyone else will be shut out starting March 2nd.
But I thought it was free???
The administration couched this mess by saying they were glad they were able to help. The administration has not asked Congress for funds to continue the program.
Obamacare is really not going to work well, really, it’s not.
The medical device tax is also presenting problems with larger companies threatening to lay off workers and smaller companies canceling projects like the ones that develop artificial limbs.
