Ever Valles

The details of this story are awful but they are not unusual: the sanctuary city of Denver prevented ICE from picking up an illegal alien criminal before he was released from prison. A month later, the criminal, a gang member, robbed and murdered a 32-year old man. The officials then tried to blame ICE.

Denver police charged an illegal immigrant with murdering a 32-year old American man just one month after they released the alien from jail despite pleas from federal immigration officials to hold him.

Ever Valles, was arrested in February and charged with the murder of Tim Cruz, 32. The victim was waiting at the Sheridan light rail station in Denver when Valles and accomplice Nathan Valdez allegedly approached him with the intent to rob him, according to Fox 31, Denver.

Police say Valles and Valdez are seen on the rail station’s surveillance video after allegedly robbing and shooting Cruz. Both Valles and Valdez were arrested within days of the murder.

Nathan Valdez

Valles was arrested in January on car theft and other charges but was released even though the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency officials had asked the department to alert them when he was about to be released so they could pick him up for repatriation. Immigration officials say Valles was a priority individual because he is a known gang member and illegal alien. He is also reportedly included in the Colorado gang database.

ICE was only given a 25-minute warning before this dangerous criminal alien was released back onto the streets of Denver where he murdered Tim Cruz, an innocent man. KDVR also reports that a source told them that the Sheriffs Department was intentionally misleading the media about the incident claiming that they warned ICE officials.

How despicable. Not only did they protect the illegal alien criminal, they tried to put the blame on ICE.

Immigration officers did not have time to get to the station to pick Valles up and take him into federal custody.

Denver is a sanctuary city.

Denver Mayor Michael Hancock recently said he “welcomes” being considered a place of sanctuary for illegals even if his city hasn’t made the official declaration.

“If being a sanctuary city means that we value taking care of one another, and welcoming refugees and immigrants, then I welcome the title. f being a sanctuary city means families and young ‘Dreamers’ live with hope and not fear, then Washington can label us whatever they want,” Hancock said in a Youtube video statement posted at the end of January.

His values are to protect all the people, even the criminal illegal aliens.

According to KDVR, Ever Valles is in jail in Denver along with Nathan Valdez for the killing of Tim Cruz, 32, at the Sheridan light rail train station on Feb. 7. He and Nathan Valdez were formally charged with murder Friday.

Valles is an immigration enforcement priority because he is a known gang member with a gang history documented in the Colorado gang database, ICE said.

Tim Cruz, 32

The family of the murdered man, Tim Cruz, says they’re “livid” after learning one of the suspects had been flagged for possible deportation months prior to the murder.

In their first statement on the matter, family members of Tim Cruz, 32, say they believe the system “let them down.”

Cruz was a “unique, big-hearted” man, according to a statement provided to 9Wants to Know.

“His life was cut short by a senseless act,” his family added. “To say we are upset is an understatement.”

A family member who did not want to be publicly identified told 9Wants to Know the family is devastated.

“Our family is in great pain over the loss of [Tim]. His life was cut short by a senseless act that may have or could have been prevented,” read the statement.

“Tim will never be forgotten. He is the world to us, and we are going to miss him,” it said.
