IOC Drops Wrestling from 2020 Olympics

The snobby, wimpy IOC trash who run the Olympics dropped wrestling from the 2020 “core sports.”

Wrestling is as old as the Olympic games and was included in the first Olympics in 1896.

The IOC’s reasoning is they want to keep current with the times. I guess we are becoming the badminton, table tennis, and handball generation because they kept badminton, table tennis, and handball.

The decision has dealt a crushing blow to wrestlers training for the Olympics. College wrestling programs will suffer.

Wrestling is a great sport and in one fell swoop, the IOC has damaged it irreparably.

Baseball is also gone. That’s crazy.

Wrestling will now compete with baseball and softball, karate, squash, roller sports, sport climbing, wakeboarding and wushu for one spot in the Olympics.

The core sports are now: athletics, rowing, badminton, basketball, boxing, canoeing, cycling, equestrian, fencing, football, gymnastics, weightlifting, handball, hockey, judo, aquatics, modern pentathlon, taekwondo, tennis, table tennis, shooting, archery, triathlon, sailing and volleyball.

The Olympics have changed quite a bit over the years. The gala openings are so dramatic that some might say they are phony and overdone. Some might even say the games are losing their meaning and becoming too artificial and superficial.

Maybe that is keeping up with the times.

The phony Chinese communists for example had an over-the-top opening ceremony with fake fireworks and a lip-synching child in 2008. The child had to lip-synch for the actual seven-year old singer because her face was more acceptable.
