As usual, the Sentinel had to go to a UK paper, the telegraph, to get accurate, updated information on Iraq. U.S. media is spending too much time laying out the case for Obama’s innocence in the turn of events.

Saddam’s old forces and some moderate groups have joined ISIS and they are leaving a trail of blood and horror in their wake.

They released photos online to add to the terror and the propaganda, letting people know they can’t fight them. If an Islamic caliphate is established, this will only be the beginning.

As of 12:34, Sunday, the Iraqi army halted the ISIS advance outside the holy town of Samarra, 60 miles NW of Baghdad.

Shortly after, it was reported that fighting began in Samarra.

Obama is in Rancho Mirage golfing.

The security forces launched a counter attack and took back some local towns and villages. Helicopter gunships have attacked ISIS successfully but also inadvertently – or not – hit a convoy of Kurdish fighters, killing six.

At 11:15, ISIS tweeted photos online of its fighters bringing Iraqi soldiers in flatbed trucks like so much refuse. The then made them march to a ditch with their arms tied behind their backs. After they were forced to lie face down in the ditch, they were slaughtered with gunfire.

ISIS published pictures of the captives soaked in blood after being shot. So many of the victims were very young.

ISIS terrorists show no mercy, they are vicious terrorists, they have no sense of honor.

This happened near Tikrit, north of Baghdad.

Lt. Gen. Qassim al-Moussawi of the Iraqi army confirmed the photos were authentic and that these mass murders of soldiers or people they claim are soldiers were taking place elsewhere.

Many are in civilian clothes, probably in a failed effort to hide their identity. Soldiers and police are leaving uniforms and equipment behind in an attempt to escape as the terrorists approach.

Tony Blair broke his silence this morning by stating the 2003 invasion of Iraq was not the catalyst for the current situation, but instead that the West’s non-action on Syria empowered ISIS to strike toward Baghdad. George Bush has maintained silence.

Women as well as men are signing up to help Iraqi soldiers as NerObama vacations in Palm Springs and “contemplates” as CBS News so delicately put it. NerObama has no concerns about the optics obviously.

Fighting has broken out in Samarra. Christians in the city face certain death. Even Alawite Muslims are murdered simply for being Alawites.

Turkey has vowed to do something about their embassy officials kidnapped by ISIS in Mosul.

GOP Mike Rogers chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, said on Fox News Sunday the uprising in Iraq by an Islamic militant group is “as dangerous as it gets,” and that the Obama administration must reunite with Arab nation partners to stop the surge.

Rogers and others say the situation goes far beyond Iraq’s borders and is a major problem because some of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant fighters, or ISIS, have passports, which allows them to be trained — or “radicalized” – in the region and return to Europe and the United States.

He argued that another major concern is that at least some of the fighters in the Al Qaeda-connected group are “seasoned combat veterans.”

“It’s a jihadist Disneyland,” he said. “We need to do something to stop the momentum.”

“You can’t just fire missiles and come home,” the Michigan lawmaker told “Fox News Sunday.”

Mr. Obama lost the peace in Iraq. What will he do now? Will he do nothing, almost nothing, or outsource to Iran, another vicious terrorist state?
