The IS war chest is growing daily and they are rich. According to U.S. intelligence officials, their resources exceed that “of any other terrorist group in history.”
Persian Gulf donors, many from Saudi Arabia, were the biggest funders of ISIS aka IS and ISIL in the past. They’ve backed off because of the bad publicity. It’s not a problem for IS since they are now self-sustaining. They will do anything, commit any crime to secure funds.
They earn at least $3 million a day from oil sales, human trafficking, theft, and extortion, according to U.S. intelligence officials et al.
IS controls 11 oil fields in Syria and Iraq, something we could have stopped if we had wise leaders.
Obama is blaming Kurds, Jordanians and Iraqis for the success of the IS oil smuggling. The Iraq-Turkey border has been a safe haven for smugglers for generations and IS relies on it.
The Kurds say they’ve tried to shut the black market down but IS has the money and they bribe border guards and others. IS gives huge discounts for their oil.
They also make big bucks off stolen antiquities and anything of value and by selling women and children as sex slaves. Extortion is another big business. They also tax heavily for any reason whatsoever – like the Democrats.
Selling kidnap victims rakes in big dollars.
The extortion business in Mosul alone earns $8 million a month.
U.S. intelligence says they have a Mafia-like organization.
It’s okay, it’s all done for Allah.
We could bomb the oil fields and end their funding stream but Democrats won’t do it because civilians are working the plants. They are ignoring the fact that far more people will be tortured and will die if we don’t.
IS/ISIS/ISIL are pure evil and we had better do something soon, something besides blowing up pickup trucks from the air.
Saudi Arabia deserves mention since their king wants us to attack them.
Saudi Arabia has long funded the global Jihadist movement. They were the biggest funders of insurgents in Iraq and 16 of the 19 hijackers on 9/11 were Saudis. They also fund Hamas suicide bombers.
Sauds are divided over ISIS, some applaud it and others decry it. The answer lies in the history of Wahhabism. ISIS are strict Wahhabists but they differ from Sauds in that they do not follow the doctrine of “One Ruler, One Authority, One Mosque,” who is the King of Saudi Arabia.
The evolution of ISIS and the fears of the Saudi king could have been predicted. Now they must be stopped.
