ISIS has undergone a meteoric rise since it formed in 1999, but nothing bolstered it as much as the Libyan war when foreign fighters left Libya to join the terrorist group in Syria.

In order for people to understand, we need only look at recent history.

In 2011, President Obama sold the Libyan War as an urgent humanitarian undertaking. He circumvented Congress to declare war.

What unfolded was not democracy as we were promised.

Libya is a failed state run by roving bands of terrorists. Benghazi is a training ground for terrorists.

Libyan fighters and Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood poured into Syria, joining forces with al-Nusra and ISIS.

It was the foreign fighters that turned the moderate Free Syrian Army into an army that fights alongside terrorists and includes terrorists within its ranks.

The Independent uk newspaper reported Monday that al-Nusra and ISIS have agreed to join forces wherever they have like interests, which includes repelling anything involving the United States. It also includes conquering Baghdad. The militants are one mile outside Baghdad, engaged in fierce fighting.

Al-Nusra is al Qaeda in Syria. It is not an affiliate or an offshoot or a franchise. It is al- Qaeda, just as the Khorasan Group is al Qaeda. It too is not an affiliate. They answer to al-Zawahiri.

In the end, all these jihadists groups have the same basic goals. They want a global jihad, a global caliphate, and the end of democracy and all other religions. They want the destruction of the West and Israel.

On Monday, Benjamin Netanyahu spoke before the U.N.,unfortunately, to many empty seats.

He said that Hamas and all these militant Islamist groups have the same ultimate purpose:

It’s not militants. It’s not Islam. It’s militant Islam. Typically, its first victims are other Muslims, but it spares no one. Christians, Jews, Yazidis, Kurds – no creed, no faith, no ethnic group is beyond its sights. And it’s rapidly spreading in every part of the world. You know the famous American saying: “All politics is local”? For the militant Islamists, “All politics is global.” Because their ultimate goal is to dominate the world.
